Early on Friday, August 2, the Turkish authorities blocked access to [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/)***, citing unfair treatment by [Meta Platforms](https://cyberdefence24.pl/politics-i-law/meta-o-realization-application-from-government-rigoristic-rule-and-processes). The Turkish Office for Information and Communication Technology (BTK), i.e. the body liable for monitoring issues related to the functioning of the net in the territory of the State, initially announced its decision without giving details, simply stating that "instagram.com was blocked by decision of 02/08/2024".
