What is happening present in the area of safety forces a completely different approach to the function of the state and the army. It's not about anyone talking about replacing civilian structures by the military. Rather, it is about complementing the capacity of the state where necessary. We must besides remember that the modern war is different than it was a fewer decades ago. These are no longer just tanks and trenches - possibly even less. Today, war is simply a hugely modern technology, cybersecurity that affects the functioning of our lives. The mark of the attack is no longer just classical military targets. State systems and critical infrastructure are increasingly involved. The past fewer weeks have been very clear. Therefore, the military must be present in all domains, due to the fact that in all domains there is simply a modern conflict - said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish during the debate: digital and informational resilience of Poland. Challenges in the Age of Hybrid War.
On Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in Warsaw, Deputy Prime Minister, National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz took part in the debate entitled Digital and Information opposition of Poland. Challenges in the Age of Hybrid War. The event provided a platform for discussion on key challenges in the field of state security, with peculiar emphasis on cyber and misinformation threats.
- I'm sorry. all day brings us fresh challenges. The Center for Artificial Intelligence Implementation – due to the fact that that's what I'm going to get to now – is an component of activities that are expected to let us to decision forward and not to fall behind. An example is the implementation of artificial intelligence in Ukraine, which is very advanced today. We must benefit from these experiences and from what has already been achieved there. To be honest, this is my large ambition and 1 of the 3 most crucial tasks for this and next year. We're talking about areas like far-precision coverage, drones, drone systems. Artificial intelligence must be implemented in the management of the army - not only in the area of command, but throughout the strategy of functioning of the armed forces, regardless of where we are in history. Whether the threat of war will increase, whether peaceful times will come - the management of the army supported by artificial intelligence will be essential - stressed Deputy Prime Minister W. Kosiniak-Kamish during the event.
The conference brought together representatives of the Polish Armed Forces, government administration and local government, as well as experts from the business sector. The planned panels discussed the strategical directions for the improvement of cybersecurity and the possible for artificial intelligence to be utilized in hybrid threats. An crucial point of the gathering was besides the analysis of advancement in the implementation of SCCO standards and the assumptions of the NIS2 Directive in the national legal and organisational system.
- I'm sorry. Today, the military has about 28,000 soldiers, and it is expected to number 500 1000 with a reserve of advanced readiness. Management of this structure must be supported by very advanced analytical tools based on artificial intelligence. That is why we treat this as a continuous process - in practice, we study on the state of work and advancement in this area all week. This is something we truly need. The Artificial Intelligence Implementation Center is already in operation. Artificial intelligence factories are besides being created, among others on AGH in Krakow - this is besides the consequence of the work of many environments. The DIANA task is besides developing, which is mostly targeted at cybersecurity areas. Looking at this from a broader perspective, we see more and more points of contact between the military and civilian sectors. In my opinion, the military will play an increasingly crucial function in key areas of state governance. The more threats the level of threats increases and the faster decisions should be made, the more crucial the military component becomes - not as a replacement for civilian institutions, but as a complement to them where the state's sensitivity is top - stated the head of the MON during the debate.
The event culminated in a debate on the improvement and implementation of a coherent strategy of digital and informational resilience of Poland, which is 1 of the priorities of the functioning of the state administration in times of modern conflicts.
