Cyberattack on the State registry strategy last day of PIT submission

On April 30, 2025, there was a powerful cyber attack on the government's State registry System. As reported by RMF24, the attack was repulsed, but on the date of the final settlement of the PIT and the submission of applications for the provision of 800+, many people may have faced serious difficulties.

What happened?
The attack was a classical example DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service), i.e. attempts to overload the strategy through mass requests sent from multiple computers simultaneously.

"Hackers – not yet known from where – deliberately hit today" – emphasizes RMF24. The date was not accidental – 30 April is the last day to submit the PIT taxation returns, applications for 800+ for a fresh period and investigation records in the programme Prevention 40+.

Consequences of the attack
Although cyber criminals failed to take control of the system, they paralyzed it for respective twelve minutes. Citizens may have problems with:

• submission of PIT online,
• vehicle registration,
• use of the application mCitizen.

Service response
The case was handled. Cyberpolice and interior safety Agency. For now, it is unclear who is behind the attack and whether it was purely destabilised or attempted to bargain data.
