A large assembly of Muslim believers was held in Gdańsk on the occasion of the end of the Ramadan. On Friday morning, March 20, about 3,000 people gathered in the area of the Oliwa mosque.
Due to the large attendance, the space of the mosque itself proved insufficient. any of the participants prayed in the adjacent garden, and many spread prayer rugs straight on Abraham’s street. The passage of the road was temporarily disabled and secured by police.
The convention was clearly international, and many languages were heard among the participants. The local Muslim community includes people from various regions of the world, including mediate East, Asia and North Africa. Polish Tatars besides participated in the event.
A joint prayer was presided over by the imam Selçuk Ürkmez. After it was finished, the faithful listened to the sermon. Eid al-Fitr celebrations, according to tradition, proceed for the following days.
Representatives of the local community emphasized the expanding number of prayer participants each year. They besides expressed their gratitude to the city authorities, order services and residents for supporting and enabling the event to be organized.
Similar celebrations were besides held in another cities, including Krakow.
Comment: Judging by the nature of the above information, in 5-10 years we will be in a akin position as Germany and France, from which we have been laughing. It is only a pity that the full achievements of erstwhile generations of Poles will be lost as a consequence of respective years of policy of the POLIS block.
