On Tuesday (9.12.) Czech president Petr Pavel appointed the Prague Castle as Prime Minister of the ANO movement leader Andrej Babiš. Babiš returns to his position after little than 4 years. This is the 3rd time he's taken over as head of government. After his appointment, he took a solemn oath. The remainder of the cabinet, created by the ANO, the SPD and Motoristé sobě, will be appointed on Monday 15 December.
"The Czechs are presently in a complicated situation in terms of safety and the economy. We will gotta deal with a number of problems that will not be easy for society," the president stressed during the ceremony. As he pointed out, not only will it be essential to imagination and courage but besides to anchor the country in the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance.
Pavel besides called for decisive action in favour of regions peculiarly affected by social problems. He concluded by declaring that he would support Babiš and the full government in everything that would contribute to the good of the state.
The president besides thanked Babiš for having presented to the public, in accordance with the erstwhile agreement, a way to resolve the conflict of interest related to holding Agrofert. He expressed assurance that the leader of the ANO would bring the substance to an end in the next 30 days.
In his brief speech, Babiš thanked the president for entrusting him with the task of forming a government. "I promise all citizens that I will fight for their interests not only in the country but besides in the world. I will do everything we can to implement the government's agenda, and everything to make the Czech Republic the best place to live on our planet," he said.
The fresh Prime Minister besides announced that he would fill the post of government lawyer for artificial intelligence, who would at the same time become Deputy Minister of manufacture and Trade – as was the end of the outgoing government of Petra Fiala (ODS). Babiš besides plans to reconstruct the function of IT and digitization proxy, which was performed by Vladimir Dzurilla in the coalition cabinet of ANO and ČSSD (now SOCDEM). The Fiala government liquidated the post after taking power.
ANO leader, who turned 71 in early September, is the oldest politician always headed by the Czech government or Czechoslovakia. He owns it.
