In Donald Tusk's government, tensions increase – Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak is considering resigning. The reason is to dissatisfaction with the pace of changes made by Minister Czesław Siekierski (PSL) and the increasing opposition of farmers. Is this the beginning of a major coalition crisis?

The wheelman is ready to leave. ‘The office is already packed’

According to RMF FM, Kołodziejczak is afraid about the deficiency of advancement in the Ministry of Agriculture. He besides criticises the PSL for its mediocre commitment to the first circular of presidential elections, which, in his opinion, influenced the turn of farmers from the government.

"Kołodziejczak believes that the discontent of farmers weakens the position of the government. If the work in the hotel is not accelerated, he will consider leaving” – reports the station. Deputy Minister is to meet Siekierski to discuss the future of his actions.

Government reconstruction after the election. Tusk announces changes

Prime Minister Donald Tusk had already announced changes in his office. On May 21, in an interview with TVP Info, he stated that following the presidential election there would be a reconstruction of the government and the coalition would be redefined.

"Not everyone has a reason to be happy. I will be back in June to talk to coalition partners to make this government smaller but more efficient" – Tusk said.

According to press reports, among the people at hazard of losing their positions are Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and Head of Climate Ministry Paulina Hennig-Kloska.

New president and Government Policy

The presidential election was won by Karol Nawrocki (supported by PiS), defeating Rafał Trzaskowski (KO) with only 1.78 percent points. His triumph can affect the dynamics of changes in government, especially erstwhile it comes to relations with opposition.

Is the departure of Kołodziejczak just the beginning of bigger shuffle? It all depends on talks in the coalition and Prime Minister Tusk's reaction to the expanding tensions.
