The expanding radicalisation of PiS politicians in the fight against the Confederacy, aggressive president Karol Nawrocki, counter "low-current" and on the occasion of an accident with the ETS. besides Donald Tusk's government reducing VAT and excise work on fuel. In addition to everything – the spectra of Polexit.
A lot of threads that request to be discussed, due to the fact that in Polish politics the long-term course at the short circuit will only increase. This is no longer falling in love with Donald Trump, this is simply a precise maneuver from which, as citizens, we cannot appear with a defensive hand. Let us examine the fresh movements of the government and the opposition and draw conclusions.
Radical strategy – only worse
One of the strongest moments of the past week was the behaviour of president Karol Nawrocki towards the writer during his visit to Hungary. The case was echoed, from sharp comments by memes.
However, according to my interviewer Prof. Renata Mieńkowska-Norkiene, this is not a coincidence, but a precisely planned strategy to fight on the right for voters' votes, but besides for algorithms in social media.
– The more Karol Nawrocki tries to harden himself, the more he consolidates on the side of the Polish right hand this electorate, which is to bring the right back to power in 2027, the more he will let himself to behave so hard, says Mieńkowska-Norkiene.
Word aggression, progressive radicalization, utmost emotions. This is all an thought of Law and Justice to dominate the right side of the political scene. According to the unwritten regulation “to the right of the Law and Justice only a wall”.
It's a maneuver to take the vote of the Confederate, or, in fact, 2 Confederates. But the problem with reasoning like this is that you can besides collide with a wall.
"Low current -33 percent." is simply a inexpensive password without cover
One of Charles Nawrocki's main (and uncontained) promises? “When I become president, electricity bills will drop by 33 percent.” The president's office says there's no inexpensive power, due to the fact that the task is stuck in the seismic freezer. I'll get back to that. Let's start with a more crucial issue.
President's spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz published an entry on the X with a link to the counter “low-current”. You request to upload an invoice for the power to calculate how much would be saved if it were not for “the cynical political play of the Donald Tusk government”.
Apart from the fact that the calculations show 34 percent savings for the studio, and in larger apartments and single-family houses do not approach the promised 33 percent, the problem lies elsewhere.
Well, the president and his officials are pushing a bill based on ETS money. The proceeds from emissions trading would finance cheaper electricity, and if not enough, the state budget will should be added. So the electricity won't be cheaper, we'll all fall on it, but in a different form.
On top of that, both Karol Nawrocki, his officials, as well as the PiS's anointed fresh Prime Minister Przemysław Czarnek want... Poland's exit from the ETS. So they want to destruct the main origin of backing for the low-current bill. Be smart and compose poems.
SAFE 0 percent Kosiniaka-Kamisha
At the beginning of the week, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the MON entered the political game, but above all, the leader of the Polish People's Party, who starts his dance with voters.
In my opinion, they should focus on what they call the most important: “people”. Instead, however, we are dealing with a political push for the presidential SAFE 0% and the power insignia.
Kosiniak-Kamysz claims that this is “checking” against the president and his project. Whether it truly is about supporting the Polish defence, or whether it is just about obstructing the government's life and paving the way for power in 2027.
The subject was picked up in a flash by Przemysław Czarnek, speaking of “friends with PSL”, who at the same time “friends cannot be called”. He stated that PSL had come to its senses and noticed the presidential project. The arguments reflect the main 1 curious and like in the sandbox – my shoulder is larger and your bucket is leaking.
In fact, neither side is liable for security. It's all about support. Colonel Krzysztof Quail spoke to me about it. He pointed out another crucial item that is worth looking at, and it concerns the fresh activities of president Nawrocki's cabinet.
– The aspect that concerns me very much is the message by Sławomir Cenckiewicz, the head of the BBN, that – I quote – he is afraid about the SAFE project, due to the fact that it is not compatible with the United States defence strategy. For God's sake, where are we? And finally, a visit to the increasingly daunting U.S. Ambassador. So I think we should examine this very carefully – says Colonel Quail.
Fuels cheaper before Christmas
Here briefly – the government Donald Tusk decided to make a strong intervention on fuel. A week earlier, Tusk himself claimed it was an ace up his sleeve erstwhile it was truly bad. I think he waited until Easter due to the fact that it looks nice. If I were Prime Minister myself and something would require specified a far-reaching intervention, I would surely search a simultaneous increase in support. But it's a side topic.
The fact is that the government reduces VAT and excise work on fuel. Thus – as Donald Tusk assures – the fuel is to be cheaper by 1.20 PLN per litre.
Peeling Polyxit
Even if the erstwhile minister for European affairs Konrad Szymanski is starting to inform about Polexit – something is going on. But why is this subject gaining popularity right now and starting to get more and more into public debate?
Overton's window and its decision is how it works. Hence expanding acceptance for Polexit on the right. A fewer years ago, it was a marginal scenario. present – as the polls show – even half of PiS voters let this possibility.
Although most Poles proceed to support EU membership, the language of the debate is changing. The mechanics is well known from Britain – first extremist slogans, then their gradual normalization.
However, there is simply a fundamental difference. Jarosław Kaczyński – as a realist – does not want to leave the European Union, but as a populist – must fight Grzegorz Braun and Sławomir Mentzen. These two, especially the former, seem much more extremist and determined to blow the Union from the inside or to step out. The president of PiS only has specified slogans, but if you start speaking besides much language not from your fairy tale, the more you can alienate and lose voters.
Those who are with the Confederates will not go to the counterfeit Law and Justice. And those who get tired of extremist PiS will start looking around. And here we return to Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish and his PSL. due to the fact that he might be the 1 who's gonna choice up any of the PiS voters. And this is Kaczyński's nightmare, but not so detached from reality. This will be applauded by Donald Tusk, due to the fact that he needs a strong coalition player to keep his power in 2027.
The fear for parliament is just beginning. It seems to be rough to the border? Only so we think – it will be much hotter in the next 1.5 years.
