Russian forces entered the northern and east parts of Pokrovska, cutting off the last routes to supply the agglomeration defenders. According to unofficial Ukrainian sources, until 2 November under the control of the aggressor could pass 50–70% of the city's surface, and its defence was broken into respective parts. The main fights are about the Ukrainian military-controlled "cytadela" into which the high-rise settlement has been converted. According to any sources, it was already winged by the Russians. Russian advancement on the northern and east outskirts of neighbouring Myrnohrad is negligible and is most likely aimed solely at tying the Ukrainian forces defending this city. The bag in which the pokrowska agglomeration is located is presently 10–11 km deep and 8 km wide at the base (it is controlled by the defenders of Czunyszyne, Suchy Jar and Prominiń), while its width at the exit is about 2 km. The provision of supplies to Ukrainian forces from the end of October is already only provided on ft by fields between Pokrowski and the main road from the agglomeration to the north of Rodynskem. Thus it is presently the only possible way to retreat Ukrainian soldiers, but it is under constant fire and control of enemy drones.

The Ukrainian attempts to deblock the agglomeration from the north ended with a failure., whose intent was to establish a connection with Myrnohrad (the supply of this town for many weeks was only possible by Pokrowsk). The Ukrainians drew additional forces to this end, withdrawn from various little endangered sections of the front, which had made field advancement but failed to displace the Russians from Rodynsky. A full fiasco was the chopper landing of peculiar forces of Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) on the northwest outskirts of Pokrovska. They were besides tiny to actually support the defense, and were most likely only sent to show the Ukrainian presence at the elevated to the rank of symbol of the destroyed entrance stele into the city.

Several Ukrainian brigades were included in the operational lap. Due to the long-term struggles and the deficiency of rotation, their forces have frequently melted to battalion level, but this is inactive an crucial possible from the position of the defenders. Individuals with the top experience were directed to defend the agglomeration. On the Ukrainian Internet, the number of appeals, signed besides by the lower level of linear commanders, to give the order to retreat as long as possible. They criticise the misinformation of the actual situation by the Ukrainian advanced command levels with the General Staff at the head and stress that it is now only possible to save the surviving force. The defenders realize that in the absence of a real anticipation of deblocking – and the actions taken so far indicate that the Ukrainian command does not have adequate forces for this intent – the collapse of the agglomeration is only a substance of time.
