Minicentre of satellite operations, position of military analysts and natural size reflection satellite – specified attractions await the guests of the exhibition “Sense from orbit”. The Ministry of Defence invites you to an exhibition that tells the communicative of satellite imaging, but most importantly – will show the future of this technology in the service of the Polish Army and Polish science.
“We are beginning an educational exhibition that shows how crucial satellite capabilities are today. Education is crucial here. In practice, we want to show the application of space technologies and peculiarly accentuate these abilities, which will first strengthen the reconnaissance possible of the Polish Armed Forces," said Cezary Tomczyk, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence at the beginning of the exhibition "Sense from orbit". The exhibition tells about the past of satellite imaging and presents the assumptions of the space-based MON investment. “These are our own eyes in space: for the safety of soldiers, for the resilience of the state and for better preparation for crisis situations,” said the Deputy Minister.
The beginning date of the exhibition is not accidental. In a fewer days – 22 November – the first Polish satellite will be launched into orbit. This is another phase of construction. Satellite Earth reflection SystemIt's expected to start work next year. – We are building an highly crucial capacity for the Polish Army. Ability which the Polish Army has not had so far. The anticipation of imaging satellite, radar, and therefore, to make the capabilities associated with targeting for the Polish Army – said Cezary Tomczyk. The year 2025 is from our point of view the year of space. Not just due to the fact that Second Pole in Space, but besides due to the fact that this military satellite will simultaneously be the first satellite of the Republic to be launched into orbit," he added.
“Space is gaining importance in the global economy and in the area of security, and the increasing interest in Space Poles and Poles is the best confirmation of this,” said Rafał Modrzewski, co-founder and president of Iceye. “We want to educate, explain why satellite technologies, with a peculiar emphasis on Earth observation, are crucial present and what real applications they have,” he argued.
Space past and the Future
The “orbital feeling” presented at the Museum of the Polish Army is an exhibition that brings together the past of Earth reflection from outer space and military and civilian applications of satellites. It is aimed at young people, students, people who are educated in military directions, but besides everyone curious in space and defence. Visitors will have the chance to enter the satellite operations centre built here, to learn about the work of military analysts, and to check on interactive exhibition elements what the analysis of materials obtained from orbit looks like. The exhibition besides outlines the past of satellite recognition, shows how satellites were erstwhile deployed and what they have served for since the beginning of space exploration.
One of the main elements of the exhibition is the Micro SAR military program aimed at building a national radar satellite-based reconnaissance system. The MON Technology Partner in this area is Iceye.
During the exhibition there will besides be discussion panels with experts. On 18 November, the MWP invites to the debate on "Between the US and Russia and China: Can Europe Win the Space Game?". 2 days later, invited guests will effort to answer the question "How to make a passion for innovation in schools".
The exhibition can be seen at the Polish Military Museum in Warsaw from next day to 21 November. Iceye and Polish Armoured Group and Polish Space Agency were liable for its preparation. The exhibition was covered by the honorary patronage of the Minister of National Defence.
