On Tuesday, the European Parliament in Strasbourg adopted strengthened protective provisions in the EU trade agreement with the Mercosur countries. They are intended to let the Union to intervene rapidly in a situation where imports from South America will lead to a fall in prices of beef and eggs, among others.
