Full and partial indulgences in the Catholic Church
The doctrine of indulgence is connected with the mystery of Divine Mercy. In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the sinner receives forgiveness of his sins for which he sincerely regrets. Thus he can attain eternal salvation. The forgiveness obtained does not, however, free us from the temporal (time) punishments that come upon us in life or after death in purgatory. The rich treasury of the church’s indulgences serves to relieve these punishments. Thus, indulgence is God’s giving of temporal punishment for sins already forgiven. The partial and complete indulgences are distinguished (depending on the degree to which they release us from the temporal penalty). These indulgences can be enjoyed by any baptized individual after having fulfilled appropriate conditions for himself or offering them for the dead.
Seven conditions for full indulgence: 1. The absence of any attachment to sin, even regular (if there is no complete disposition - partial indulgence is gained). 2. The state of sanctifying grace (no unrelenting dense sin) or sacramental confession. 3. The reception of Holy Communion. 4. Saying prayer (e.g. "Our Father" and "Hail Mary") in the intentions of the Holy Father (it is not about prayer in the intention of the Pope himself, although this prayer is very valuable; prayer related to indulgence is to be addressed in the intentions of those matters for which the Pope prays all day. These intentions are frequently announced, including on our calendar pages for a given month). 5. Performing the indulgence activity. 6. crucial explanation: any confession, Holy Communion and prayer in the intentions of the Holy Father may be fulfilled within a fewer days before or after the fulfilment of the act of indulgence; however, there must be a connection between these elements. After 1 confession, many indulgences can be obtained, but after 1 Holy Communion and 1 prayer in the intentions of the Pope - only 1 full indulgence. 7. The Church encourages to offer indulgences for the dead (not necessarily people we know, we do not request to mention a peculiar name - it is adequate to offer indulgences for the deceased who needs this indulgence). The indulgences (both partial and complete) cannot be offered for the living.

But if those faithful due to sickness (or any another right reason) are incapable to leave the house, but refuse the lace to the mercy of God with assurance and with a desire for mercy for themselves and a willingness to show it to others, then under average conditions they besides gain full indulgence. In another circumstances, the indulgence will be partial.
28. A complete indulgence is granted on simple terms (a sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, prayer in the papal intentions) to the faithful, who on the Second Easter Sunday, or Divine Mercy, in any church or chapel, with a heart completely free from all attachment to any sin, even daily, he will take part in godly practices for the worship of God's Mercy, or at least refuse before the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist, exhibited publically or hidden in the Tabernacle, prayer Our Father and Credo, adding a godly call to the Lord Jesus the Merciful (e.g. Jesus the Merciful, I trust you). In addition, sailors who carry out their duties in immeasurable areas of the seas; countless brothers whose wartime tragedies, political events, burdensome natural conditions and another akin causes have forced them to leave their native land; the sick and their guardians and all those who, for a legitimate reason, cannot leave their homes or execute the urgently needed tasks for the good of the community, may receive a indulgence full on the Sunday of Divine Mercy, if they renounce completely any sin as said above, and with the intention of fulfilling - whenever possible - 3 average conditions, they will refuse before the holy image of our Lord Jesus the Merciful prayer Our Father and Credo, adding a devout call to the Lord Jesus the Merciful (e.g. Jesus the Merciful, I trust you). If the faithful, motivated by the motive of faith, comes to the aid of those in need, helping them personally or sharing their possessions with them, he receives partial indulgence. 3. erstwhile a faithful individual refuses something worthy and pleasing to himself, he receives partial indulgence. This condition is designed to encourage believers to practice voluntary mortification.

In conclusion, it is worth stressing one more time the importance and anxieties for the individual benefit of all man, in the act of zeal in obtaining the regular indulgences and partial indulgences. Well, as St. John Paul II himself explained, the pope in the Adhortation of Reconciliatio et poenientia: “The soul that falls through sin brings the Church and, in a way, the full world. In another words, there is no sin, not even the innermost and most secretive, most individual, which refers exclusively to who commits it. all sin projectes with little or greater violence, with little or greater harm to the full church structure and to the full human family.” (No 16).
