Washington-friendly planet leaders, major donors and allies in the U.S. legislature practically begged US president Donald Trump to suspend customs – provided the portal Axios, citing sources in the administration.

Trump signed an implementing regulation on 2 April imposing ‘reciprocal’ customs duties on imports from another countries. Their base rate is 10 percent, and for 57 countries since Wednesday there have been higher rates that were calculated on the basis of the United States trade deficit with the country concerned: so that alternatively of the deficit there is simply a balance. However, on April 9, Trump announced that more than 75 countries had not taken retaliatory action and demanded negotiations, so for 90 days the basic import duties of 10% will apply to all but China.

"After days erstwhile Trump firmly said that the falling stock marketplace did not bother him, it was impossible to ignore the continuous decline in the market, the problems in the bond marketplace and the falling dollar. World-friendly leaders, legislature allies, major donors and general directors “practically begged for a break,” says the report.

According to the portal's source, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Secretary Howard Lutnick told Trump that “their phones keep ringing” with calls from various countries offering negotiations. Furthermore, according to an unnamed U.S. administration official, Trump and his advisers believe that China's decision to rise customs duties against the US created an chance for Washington to suspend customs increases for another countries "as a sign of friendship".

"As Secretary Bessent noted, nobody knows how to make maximum leverage better than president Trump," said an unnamed U.S. Treasury authoritative quoted by the portal.
Earlier, NBC television, citing a nameless high-ranking U.S. government official, reported that Bessent and Latnick had persuaded Trump to suspend duties, panicking over the bond marketplace situation.

The fresh York Times, citing sources, stated in turn that the suspension of American duties for 90 days was due to Washington's concerns about the fresh global financial crisis.
