Conflicting Signals from Trump’s People: What About Tariffs?

Trump administration officials have been inconsistent in their message about the future of tariffs. The president’s economical adviser, Kevin Hassett, told ABC that more than 50 countries had approached the White home for negotiations. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick suggested that tariffs would remain, and dismissed an offer to cut tariffs from Vietnam, among others.
