In the 20th Industrial Territorial Defence Brigade, a command and relay exercise was carried out on maps under the codename "LOD SPACE-25" aimed at improving command and planning skills for precise coordination of actions.
The four-day exercise of the "ICE SPACE-25" on 18-21 November allowed for the improvement of the skills of the crew of the command authorities of sub-chapters 20. The Industrial Territorial Defence Brigade in Collective Action and maneuver Problems Resolution. The position of steering the exercise was in Przemysl. The exercise was besides attended by command station casts (SD) 201. The Przemyslian border defender battalion, which was the main exerciser. It was supported by the 202nd border defence battalion from Jarosław and the 203rd border defence battalion from Sanoka.
The script of the exercise was based on a false armed confrontation between 2 bordering countries. The staff had to solve problems resulting from a dynamic tactical situation. During the exercise, they struggled, among others, with the occurrence of various sabotage events that may happen during the actual conflict and diversion attacks on various strategical objects. Practicers had to solve real-time problems and check the consequence to them. Their correctness was assessed by the analysis, evaluation and discussion team.
The aim of the command and tactical exercises is to improve the skills of the commanders and staff in squad action, address strategic, operational and tactical problems, and command and safeguard actions. They are a test of the level of preparation of command and staff to work in conditions akin to the actual ones.
The essence of these exercises is that the training squad – acting as a full-time military command body – improves and improves its work based on permanent operational procedures, each exercising squad acting in accordance with its position.
The content of command and relay exercises is solving problems in the preparation of strategic, operational and tactical actions. Their subject frequently includes comprehensive actions resulting from the destiny of a given military unit, as well as the character of the modern battlefield (fight).
