The disaster occurred during preparations for the Air Show 2025, which was scheduled to take place on August 30-31 at the airport in Radom. The origin of the disaster is being determined. When asked about the future of these connections, the PLL LOT spokesperson Krzysztof Moczulski replied that the destiny of these connections remains unknown. However, he stressed that they would most likely be redirected to Warsaw. That information came in around 9:00.
At 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, the crash announcement was sent to Radom Airport. It informs us that the port will be closed for 2 days. "Warsaw-Radom Airport remains closed until Saturday (30.08) by 2:00 a.m. Detailed information about the circumstantial flights will be obtained from the carriers" - the port provided. This means that Friday LOT routes will be changed.
Radom Airport and Deputy Prime Minister paid tribute to the deceased pilot
"We express our sincere condolences to the loved ones and friends of the tragically deceased pilot. We stay reasoning with everyone who has been affected by this tragedy" - said Radom Airport in a message.
On the scene of the tragedy, the head of MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish besides appeared. "I'm at the scene of tragedy. In the plane crash, F-16 killed the pilot of the Polish Army – an officer who always served the Homeland with dedication and large courage. I pay tribute to his memory.
