It happened — Donald Trump returned to the seat of president of the United States. If you've been following news about his inauguration for days like the Love Team, you're most likely not laughing either. Elon Musk performing a Nazi salute to the outrage of 1 half of the people and to the delight of the other, billionaires (and their companies) surpassing in licking Trump, meaningless and dangerous decisions made in the first decrees of the fresh leader: from leaving the WHO State and declaring the Treaty of Paris to announcing that from now on you admit only 2 sexes. The most powerful country on earth and the self-appointed “leader of the free world” transforms into a fascist oligarchy. Neither Europe nor the remainder of the planet can afford not to worry about it.
Unfortunately, Donald Trump did not forget his run promises, at least erstwhile it comes to discrimination against transgenders. In the first 24 hours of his second term, he issued a regulation, according to which there are only 2 sexes, male and female, which are stated at birth and which are not subject to change. This is not just about a complete challenge to the sex identity of non-business people, but the Trump Directive can have concrete legal implications for trans-nationals. If the sex recognised by the office is not subject to change, officials do not gotta recognise the transit of persons who come to them with a case to deal with, and the state-run institutions, including prisons and hospitals, may place transgender persons in spaces incompatible with their sex. It is not yet full clear which Trump directives will bring concrete legal effects and which will be impossible to implement — we are talking about a man who has identified as a precedence of the fresh term, among another things, the change of the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. It would be comic if it wasn't so dangerous.
What is beyond uncertainty is that the demonstrations will not end. Trump has long talked about the intention to cut off transgender teens' access to medical care and restrictions on trans regardless of age and life circumstances to participate in sports. During his erstwhile term, he besides banned them from military service. 1 major change, however, is that Trump began this time by giving himself the chance to exchange officials for political denominations — the first time he did so only at the end of his term, which was shortly later cancelled by his successor Joe Biden. Everything has been going on for a long time, so that after the win, Trump can full subordinate government to his environment. It cannot be ruled out — especially after the loyal Trump ultimate Court in 2022 abolished the work for all states to guarantee access to abortion — that in time Donald Trump and Republicans will scope for another human-defeating rights that they will decide to nullify. It is understandable that LGBT+ people fear for the future of matrimony equality in the country.
For now, experts are calming down that there is no request to beat the alarm, due to the fact that it is not expected that the ultimate Court will deal with single-sex marriages in the close future, and even if so, all states have a work to recognise marriages already concluded, including those intentionally concluded outside state borders. However, we are talking about circumventing possible negative changes in law, not 100% certainty that nothing bad will happen. After all these decades of fighting for equality, that's not how it should be.
Whether we like it or not, the social and political situation in the United States is echoing worldwide, and the global right borrows from and sometimes besides shares American strategies. The same extremist think-tanks as Heritage Foundation make antitrans narratives utilized for example in the UK and a state transformation project, alleged task 2025, which Donald Trump allegedly rejected and in practice implements. The “ideology of gender” which has long been ridiculed over the Vistula River, which has already been threatened by Kremlin-inspired organizations and individuals in Poland, present appears in an authoritative paper issued by the president of the United States. Ordo Iuris just waits for Kaczyński to return to power, and with him large money from the budget. Meanwhile, PiS politicians celebrate and chant “two sexes” together with Trump. possibly we request to prepare for the return of the anti-LGBT+ prosecution as a subject in the political campaign.
When the far right raises its head in strong countries that are our allies, Poland will not be arrogant to face it, but humbly bow its head. There is no hope that the politicians of the Tusk government will fight to guarantee that Europe remains the basis for empathy, common sense and humanity, while we are inactive observing human rights violations at the border with Belarus, and Donald Tusk assures us that the Prime Minister of Israel, pursued by the global Criminal Court in The Hague, has nothing to fear in Poland. The fight for mandatory wellness education and fast surrender before the PSL on this issue has already shown that we cannot number on much. However, there is no request to pretend that Trump will watch events in Poland carefully and make certain that sometimes we are not besides “woke”. The PiS will be homophobic and transphobic with or without it, even if its strong position acts as an incentive. It would be worse if average liberals felt that they had to turn to the right even more in order to compete with nationalists and populists.
As the planet appears to be moving towards chaos, the importance of the community grows. If you can't stand any more depressing and scary news from the planet or even the country, take a break from the media and spend time with your loved ones. Build support groups, aid if you have the strength and search aid if you request it.
