“Remember that dishonesty and cowardice always should be paid. Do not imagine that for years you can cultivate servile propaganda for the russian or any another regime, and then abruptly return to intellectual decency. erstwhile you fuck, you'll be a whore." George Orwell, author of “ 1984” and “Animal Farm”, addressed these fewer words of fact to journalists on September 1, 1944. It was a protest "against the vile and cowardly attitude adopted by the British press in relation to the Warsaw uprising".
A week of civilian affairs celebrates the Jubilee. precisely 5 years ago, on January 7, 2020, we published the first issue. Today, number 262 was released. We have reason to be satisfied and happy with what we wrote and said, the community gathered around Weekly, the community of readers, authors and co-workers, or given the condition of civilian media in Poland.
You can enjoy with us, want Weekly 100 years and... strengthen what we do by thought, speech or deed.
What a planet we live in
"But if people like us realize the situation better than alleged experts, they do not have the ability to foretell circumstantial events, but the ability to realize it, What a planet we live in“ Orwell wrote.
The passage of time shows that over these 5 years we have understood the situation better than the alleged experts, politicians and journalists telling us the planet in mainstream media. We had a better knowing of the planet we live in, given both the context of the global chessboard and the local yard. Those who rejected us from worship and religion yesterday change the communicative today. And they won't think of apologizing for misinformation. (Well, what to anticipate from people without honor and civilian courage.) The preaching of pyramidal nonsense can inactive be forgiven. But attacking those who disagreed and sought the truth, not anymore.
‘So-called coronavirus pandemic’ (Agamben), the war in Ukraine or the liquidation of cash are examples of cases from a global chess board where from the beginning the Weekly encouraged rational reasoning alternatively of emotional thinking. We were looking for the truth, though no 1 gave the awards and Grand Press. Just scope the old numbers and see what we wrote about camp without wires, War for Peace is Non-cash Poland. What we wrote about genocide on Volyn and Gases.
The interviews I am peculiarly arrogant of are conversations with people with whom no Polish media has previously made interviews, among others from Bret Scott about the war on cash, Robert Billot about PFOA in your blood and Joel Backan That we shouldn't believe corporations. We besides had our failures. For example, Edward Snowden, Giorgio Agamben and John F. Kennedy are on the list of conversations that have not come to fruition.
On the another hand, in the local backyard, we are the only weekly in Poland to systematically address matters that are crucial to citizens: genetic modifications of man, animals and plants (GMO NGT); activities of labour councils in the workplace; electrosmog and electrosensitive persons, socially excluded by digitalisation lovers and smartphones; dark sides of the waste incineration plant; patients who are not able to treat Lyme disease; block organization changes to civilian law initiatives and referendums; signallers taking care of the common good; killer robot technology.
It is worth emphasizing that we do not stay in the phase of criticizing and complaining about how bad the planet is. The week of civilian affairs is an example solutions journalism. We have been curious in causes and mechanisms from the beginning, not the effects of problems that average citizens experience in everyday life. From the beginning, we have helped to find solutions to these problems or presented ready solutions.
And 1 more thing. After 30 years of dealing with social activity, like Orwell, I have “aversion to politics”. At the same time, I want to emphasise that Tygodnik is simply a political medium. We are not drawn into childish games in which different “experts” convince citizens that “What they do, God forbid, is not politics”. I laughter erstwhile I hear specified naive statements or cynical eye soap. In Weekly we do a policy that we specify as a prudent fight for the common good. We do it looking for solutions beyond the organization divisions, talking to everyone who wants to talk and not lock themselves in their trenches.
People of the Week
“If freedom means anything at all, it is only as a right to tell people things they do not want to hear. average people identify with and follow this view,” Orwell emphasized in the text entitled “Freedom of the Press”, which was a preface to the first edition of the “Animal Farm” of 17 August 1945.
The years 2020-2024 were peculiar years. Years of panic of political correctness, associated with COVID-19, war in Ukraine or electrosmog. The materials in the Weekly were separated from mainstream media narratives, which, above political divisions, spoke with 1 voice, which we were allowed to think. They lied with 1 voice.. And as French author Vladimir Volkoff warned, “A Brief past of Disinformation. From Trojan horse to Internet”:
"It is almost certain that something bad is happening erstwhile opposition media agree with each another even in detail."
It took courage to stay with us and make a Weekly despite the raging around propaganda grown by intellectual prostitutes, besides called journalists interred.
5 years of publishing Weekly are besides hundreds of thousands of readers, hundreds of authors and associates. I thank everyone here who helped with thought, speech and deed.
Thank you, readers. To your presence. For the words of appreciation and solidarity you expressed in your letters to the editorial board. A fistful of examples: “Thank you for this activity, especially since it is at risk”, “Thank you for the material provided. I hope that we will yet be able to overcome this administrative machine, "I am left to bow to the Force erstwhile more for our paths have met. UltraHiperGalactically appreciate what you're doing and I'm truly honored to be a part of it.” Letters from readers give us peculiar energy. They're motivational. compose to us.
Thank you, authors. To your time, curiosity and social action. For articles, interviews, photographs, drawings, podcasts that provoke reasoning and mobilise civic activity. It is thanks to you that Tygodnik lives and discusses topics that others are silent about.
I thank my colleagues for your work, frequently invisible and social. For contacts with authors and readers, editing and correcting texts, promotion and marketing, managing a squad of volunteers, obtaining authors and funds, Meeting organisations, media patronages, partnerships with publishers, financial accounting and accounting, taking care of web and editorial method infrastructure. You could exchange it forever. due to the fact that the work to be done is huge. I give peculiar thanks to 4 women: Małgorzata Jankowska, Justyna Matusiak, Ilony Pietrzak, Magdalena Downy-Górska.
Thank you. all initiativesWith which we have entered into various forms of cooperation. Among them were: Audioteka, Human Media Festival in Threat, Polish Network of Economics, economical Forum, Millennium movie Festival Docs Against Gravity, Podcast Another World.
I besides thank those who sincerely, under name, said that any of our texts were unacceptable to them. And they don't want to compose or talk for the Weekly. due to the fact that they don't want to be next to Mr. X or Mrs. Y. It's better to see and openly tell ourselves that we are different than to read anonymous entries in antisocial media that we eat children for dinner.
Five years has shown that we have many enemies. That's good news. There are those who justice their results with the number of enemies. due to the fact that erstwhile you truly care about the common good, the business groups you're violating are talking. Half the poorness erstwhile our enemies attacked us with an open helmet. The challenge is much harder erstwhile the thought Officers spread disinformation behind our backs. It's hard to fight ghosts. That is why it is so crucial for the weekly to strengthen you with thought, speech and deed. Especially by financial deed.
We operate without censorship. We don't advertise, we don't charge for texts. We request your support. Throw yourself in the media.

Civil media and miracle us Vistula
"The point of departure has always been for me to service the origin and to know the existence of injustice. I don't sit in front of a typewriter thinking, “Now I will make another work of art”. I compose due to the fact that there is simply a lie that I want to expose, or a fact to which I want to draw attention; at first I only want to resonate" - noted the author of “No breath”, a friend of Poland and Poles.
Citizens' media are media that are not created by commercial companies and state institutions. Their main nonsubjective is not profit. They're in the public interest.
Why do we issue a Weekly of civilian Affairs? The 3 most crucial reasons. One: we want to brand injustice.
We don't want to turn our eyes erstwhile the kick is weaker.
We supported among others. Mary the Juror, a associate of the staff council who has been released illegally by the mBank board. The same mBank that promotes itself as a partner Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. We were helping. Renata Włazik, which has been fighting "green bombs" for years, or, in fact, political and business interest groups resembling the Italian mafia. We've spoken. Bogumile Sawicka, a nurse-signalist who revealed a cheering scandal at a football club and was smitten, becoming a public enemy. We talked to the doctor. Martyka's crush. and Peter Witczak..who are persecuted by an inquisition in white kites.
Reason two: in our view, we request media that look at the power of hands. It's important, especially today, erstwhile the authorities are watching us. 24 hours a day, on a scale unprecedented in historyand the media has long ceased to operate in the public interest. A fewer examples of our control: we monitor Government action on spatial planning; we're watching, how companies affect the environment through business tripsWe look at our hands services that want to increase public oversight powers.
Finally, reason three: we want to mobilise citizens to act. To act, not to click.
Citizens' activity is at the centre of our attention.
Recently We encouraged Polish and Poles to respond to the inaction of Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowskion the digitisation of a citizens' legislative initiative. We have mobilised specialists and scientists to send an appeal to Minister Barbara Nowacka about banning smartphones in schools. We keep collecting signatures for a petition where we argue the liquidation of cash. We've spoken. local communities fighting for their lives with Wipasz. We have strengthened civic activity of the inhabitants of Łódź resisting the pathodevelopment and local government authorities. I can multiply examples forever.
I can besides multiply the obstacles that citizens' media encounter in our country. civilian journalism is bad or very bad. The fact that the Weekly of civilian Affairs is inactive alive is simply a miracle over the Vistula River.
The privilege of a birthday is to give the Jubilee a gift. We request your support.
Work!
What's gonna happen?
“Go upright among those on your knees... be courageous erstwhile reason fails or brave... but beware of pride unnecessary,” wrote Zbigniew Herbert in “Mr. Cogito’s Message.”
Finally, a fewer words about what we have in plans, erstwhile we have We'll talk, have a birthday cake and have champagne.. In 1 sentence:
We're going to go straight, fight fear and throw our own sense of importance off the throne.
At strategical level, 3 fronts will be crucial for the civilian Affairs Week. One: opposition to injustice resulting from the impact of technology on society. Why? due to the fact that as Albert Einstein warned, "All our praised technological progress, civilizational in general, is comparable to an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal." The long list includes technological unemployment, AI and quantum computers, digitization, genetic modifications, deadly robots, smartphoneization, electrosmog.
Second front: looking at power at hands. Here again, we are politically incorrect. Why? Let me explain. Montescius's tripartition of power implies the division of power into legislative (Sejm, Senate), executive (President, Government) and judicial (court, tribunals). But it's a fairy tale for kids. Who isn't here and who has more power than the others and rules the game? I answer: private banks, fintech corporations. There are no media members to see this power on their hands. Why? Because the media is light with banking power.. In general, erstwhile it comes to producing pure evil, the order is as follows: First money (greed) and then power (political, military, business, spiritual media, religious).
Third front: civic mobilization. We will encourage you, you, our readers to become active citizens. Writing about what we are doing as part of the civilian Affairs Institute run and about the "external" initiatives. Those who care for the common good and will come to us with a proposal for cooperation.
And from the specifics we already have, we will print an interview with John Perkins, author of a shocking book. ‘Hit Man. fresh Economist Confessions From Dirty Work”. A converted agent who did not bow to the United States government, American services, and corporations. We will besides print a documentary entitled “Hit Man. Apology of an economical Hit Man.
We are besides planning to talk to Shoshana Zuboff, the author of the book “Age of capitalism of surveillance. Fight for the Future of Humanity on a fresh Border of Power"; Erin Brockovich, American environmental activist; Dr. Tess Lawrie, investigator and technological consultant, co-founder of the planet Council for Health.
On Polish grounds, we intend to do interviews with Piotr Ikonowicz, among others, about the dismissal of the investigation of the burning of social activist Jolanta Brzeska; with president Włocławek Krzysztof Kukucki, about social construction; with prof. Radosław Markowski, about democratic innovations.
In 2025 we plan to start activities beyond the ideological divisions within Coalition for Cash. You have an thought for cooperation, compose to us: [email protected].
This is where I'm gonna put a dot due to the fact that I could compose and write, but your time isn't rubber.
