CitizenGO: Let us not let the right of veto to be restricted in the EU. Sign the petition!

We want to share with you your thoughts on the proposals for centralisation in the European Union.
The key issue which raises the top concerns is the issue of national sovereignty.
The proposed changes, specified as the abolition of veto law in the Council of the European Union, may importantly limit Poland's impact on decisions taken at European level. Decisions would be taken without taking into account our national priorities.

The replacement of a unanimous vote with a qualified majority may lead to a situation where votes by smaller or more conservative states, specified as Poland, will be little important. This in turn creates a hazard that we will gotta accept decisions that are incompatible with our values and interests. It is besides worth noting the possible hazard of abuse of sanctions. Without the anticipation of exercising the right of veto, Poland and another associate States may be exposed to the hazard of adopting decisions that may prove unfavourable to us, without real anticipation of effective opposition.
If what is said in Brussels happens, the EU will never be as we know it again. 1 day we can find ourselves in the European Union, where our votes will have no influence.
This may sound improbable, but this is the current reality: we are facing an effort at extremist centralisation of the EU, which would mean turning it into a centralised European superstate with limited control by national governments. This is simply a systemic change that will let respective of the EU's most populous associate States to dominate, allowing them to regulation and marginalise the voices of smaller and medium-sized countries.
It's not just a theoretical threat. As you may have heard, the European Parliament adopted this controversial proposal on 22 November by a tiny majority. Of the 609 Members present, 291 were in favour, 274 against and 44 abstained.
Sign our petition, which calls on our government to reject these changes.
Although the process of amending the EU treaties will be slower than initially expected, force on this issue is already crucial. Proposals for amendments to the Treaties are to be submitted to the Environment Council, which is scheduled for 18 December, and which is to be continued by the European Council in spring.
Let us call together the Polish government to reject extremist centralisation of the EU!
