The Ormuz Strait. Where is it and why is it so crucial to planet markets?

Markets have long feared Iran's deliberate closure of the Ormuz Strait. Following the decision of the Iranian Parliament on this issue, this appears to be becoming more and more real. Meanwhile, the Ormuz Strait is simply a strategical place due to oil trade - this is where about 20% of the world's resources flow, but as much as 80% of oil supplies from this place go to Asian markets.
