The machines were to take off from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln belonging to the Nimitz type. The only unit on its deck holding the F-35C is presently the 314th VMFA-314 Black Knights Impact Squadron. It is not clear whether the F-35C conflict baptism took place precisely in these days, as USS Abraham Lincoln has been in the Yemeni area since August of that year. However, this is the first time that authoritative American sources have reported the usage of these machines in combat activities.
