The situation is worrying in the South China Sea. China is intensifying what is referred to as the "grey zone" by seeking to take effective control of the strategical reefs located in the exclusive economical region of the Philippines. In response, Manila actively seeks support from countries outside the region to organize joint patrols, which, according to Beijing, “distorts peace and stableness in the region”.
