China map the oceans. Just investigation or war preparations?

China has sent dozens of investigation vessels to the Pacific, Indian Ocean and the Arctic for the past 5 years to build a detailed map of underwater conditions. According to analysts investigating the matter, the goal may be to prepare for war with the United States.
