The leaders of China and Russia, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, had a telephone conversation during which they discussed the situation in Ukraine and relations with the US. The conversation took place in the context of Vladimir Putin's expected encounter with Donald Trump. Xi Jinping stressed that "there are no simple solutions for complex problems", and China will proceed to prosecute dialogue.
