Imagine individual in Poland wanting to start producing GaAs crystals. What should he do first?
Ano to find out what parameters have the best GaAs crystals available on the market. For example, that they have a 1000 dislocations (such defects) per square centimeter, that they have a diameter of 20 cm (the larger the better) and cost 3,000 Eur.
Would it make any sense to start producing GaAs crystals with a million dislocations per cm2, a diameter of 5 cm and a price of 10,000 Eur?
Of course not. That would be absurd.
Imagine a second example - individual wants to start producing electrical cars in Poland. Would it make any sense to produce cars with a scope on a full charged battery of 50 km?
Of course not. Whoever would like to produce electrical cars would first check that competitors' cars have a scope of 400-500 km.
In Poland there is another simplification in the number of lessons in physics, chemistry, biology. Another, due to the fact that they're embarrassingly low now. Why the Polish Minister of Education will not act the same as the hypothetical maker of GaAs or electrical cars. Simply, Mrs Nowacka should take discipline textbooks from China, or South Korea, and make the level at least identical in Poland, and even better, to be higher.
Why taller? That's due to the fact that we gotta pursuit these countries, and to drive individual out, you should be better than him.
Due to Russian aggression, we are discussing (in Poland and Europe) the army. Of course, we'll be safe if we're well-armed, but we'll never be safe if we can grow GaAs crystals like the others raised 50 years ago, or electrical cars 20 years ago.
