Preparing a fire station, mapping classes, long marches and beating a tactical loop, all during sulfurous frosts. Volunteers of voluntary essential military service began the first primary training circular of this year in Lower Silesia. Many of them are already planning specialist training to join the professional army.
W 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów 29 people attended basic training, including 7 women. They are mostly young people, 20 years old. Volunteers who applied to the unit for the first turnout this year are little than in erstwhile years. “Most likely the harsh winter aura we have present has translated into little interest,” admits Sgt. Marek Pauszek of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. The Petty Officer emphasizes that much more volunteers start training in spring, and in Świętoszow the attendance evidence on 1 turnout was 150 people.
From mortar to azimut marches
Class starts early in the morning. Wake up at 5:30. Then the volunteers become mortared. Due to the frost, a long run was replaced with a shorter dynamic performance training. All drill classes, military regulations, shooting training, tactical training or utilizing a map and field of combat medicine await you by evening. – The most difficulties for volunteers are the tactics, and thus issues specified as a secret approach to the opponent, the execution of a fire stand single or a position for squad weapons, orientation in the field or issues with SERE, or broadly understood endurance art – lists the sergeant. The 32-year-old Nannette Popp, who came from the Lubuskie Voivodeship, participates in the training in Świętoszów. I've raised children so far, and now I've decided to make a difference in my life. I want to prove myself after a long period of breaks at work – says the volunteer. She declares that she wants to stay in the army and in the future service in the Żagań, from where she will be close to home. I'm certain I'd be good at shooting. Shooting classes went very well for me, which is besides due to instructors, who explained it well – says the general elevation of Popp. He emphasizes that intellectual attitude is besides crucial in training, making physical effort easier to cope with. “I have prepared myself in this respect, so I am leaving the shield from confronting the realities of soldier life.” “I had the biggest problem with discipline, but I besides dealt with it”, he said.
A 25-year-old Nicodemus Jaslanek came to training for the Saints' Brigade from Żar. He was motivated to change his job, and in the army, he saw a chance of professional stability. As he says, the military offers a good wage for service to the country and citizens. Everything is already planned: after 8 months of specialist training, he would like to stay as a professional soldier in the Holy Brigade. “I’m reasoning about training in a reconnaissance group or in tank service as a loader,” Nicodemus Jaslanek declares.
How was his training? The biggest challenge for him was field activities, especially preparation of the fire station. – Dig in a fallen bomb, in full uniform, deep in a fewer twelve centimetres is simply a real challenge, especially in the cold, erstwhile the ground is very hard – admits the private elevation. He adds: – The field classes, here in Świętszow, are rather demanding, but I managed. I am an active individual physically and efficiently, so I was not afraid of challenges.
Future soldiers are now waiting for exams: theoretical and from PE, and then tactical loop, that is, a test during which volunteers will gotta demonstrate, among others, the ability to throw a grenade, establish communication or execute a fire station in the field. Students must score a minimum of 90 by 155 to pass the exam. Eles who win will shortly take a military oath.
