Conservative activist and co-founder Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, died Wednesday after being shot in the neck during an event at Utah Valley University. He was 31. Kirk conducted a lecture tour and his performance at Utah Valley University was the first of at least 15 scheduled events at colleges throughout the United States as part of the American Comeback Tour.
In connection with the case, a fishy was detained, who was subsequently questioned, but was released from custody after a fewer hours. The investigation continues, and the unsub is wanted. Patel reported on social media that the detainee was released after the hearing, and law enforcement authorities proceed to act, ensuring transparency of proceedings.
Utah Valley University spokeswoman reported shots fired from a close building. Charlie Kirk performed for about 20 minutes, after which he was hit in the neck. He was immediately evacuated by his protection, and the courtyard area was secured and cleared.
Presidents' condolences
Donald Trump himself reacted to the tragic death of the activist. On the fact Social platform, the president wrote:
The large and legendary Charlie Kirk is dead. No 1 understood or had a heart for youth in the United States better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially by me, and now that he is no longer with us, Melania and I offer our condolences to his beautiful wife Erica and to the family. Charlie, we love you!
At Trump's command, the flags are to be lowered to half the mast by Sunday evening as a tribute to the deceased. In an interview with The fresh York Post, the erstwhile president called Charlie Kirk his close friend and peculiar person.

We don't know yet what was driving the individual who shot Charlie Kirk, but there's no place in our democracy for this kind of despicable violence. Michelle and I will pray present for Charlie's family, especially for his wife Erika and their 2 small children.

Speaker of the home of Representatives Mike Johnson besides appealed to celebrate Charlie Kirk's memory with a minute of silence, stressing the request to condemn the phenomenon of expanding political violence. The Polish Embassy in the USA besides issued a message on this matter, expressing condolences to the household of the deceased and powerfully condemning the act of murder.
The execution was condemned by politicians from both sides of the American political scene, including Chuck Schumer and erstwhile presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who pointed out the request for cooperation so that tragedy would not be the origin of further escalation of violence.
Not all, however, supported the commemoration of the activist. "New York Times" stated that any democrats opposed specified a form of tribute, pointing to the deficiency of an analogous legislature reaction following the school shooting in Colorado, where respective students were badly injured.
Who was Kirk?
Charlie Kirk was an influential conservative activist and media personality in the United States, a close ally of Donald Trump. At the age of 18, he co-founded a Turning Point USA organization aimed at mobilising young conservative voters, which over time became the largest youth movement of this kind in the country. Kirk besides hosted the popular "The Charlie Kirk Show" podcast and regularly starred in the media, including in Fox News.
The activist was known for his controversial views, criticism of mainstream media, and active participation in cultural wars concerning race, sex and immigration. His work brought him both faithful supporters and fierce opposers. He had 5.5 million followers on the X platform and was the author of the bestselling book "The MAGA Doctrine".
