The government registry of objections to the PESEL numbers has already been in operation since November 2023, but the statutory work to verify the PESEL number of their customers, financial institutions have since 1 June 2024, thus giving customers better protection against fraud. Unfortunately, the strategy inactive has gaps that UODO wants to remove.
