Center of Life and Family: The lives of innocent children in the hands of the president – sign the appeal!
date:25 October 2026 Editor: Anna
Just a fewer days ago, I asked you to call the Members before the vote that we expected in the coming days. present I compose with a dense heart, knowing the results of voting on abortion laws.
But with determination, due to the fact that the fight for the lives of innocent children is not over yet.
The ruling coalition did not intend to hold and the vote on both abortion projects was convened unexpectedly on the first day of the Sejm meeting, on Tuesday, 20 October. The second reading, the committee gathering on the amendments and the final vote took place in 1 day.
The consequence confirms the pro-abortion line of the present Sejm. Adopted:
• the law abolishing punishment for helping and urging abortion – 217 MPs were in favour, 213 against, 3 abstained,
• The law restoring eugenic abortion, i.e. killing children suspected of having severe illness or disability – 233 MPs were in favour, 203 against.
There were 4 votes to reject the first. Only four.
In July 2024 3 votes saved Polish law from a akin change. This time the coalition left nothing to chance.
Minister Catherine Kotula of the Left herself admitted that “for the last 48 hours, to the very end” she negotiated all vote. She called it “the first vote won in 30 years” on abortion.
For them it is simply a day of triumph. For children who may lose their lives through these regulations, it's a black Tuesday.
But it's not over yet. The laws will now go to the legislature and then to the desk of president Karol Nawrocki.
As for the Senate, I have no greater illusion that their voice will be different from that of the Sejm.
That's why 1 of the president's signatures can make them work. 1 of his vetos can halt them. The ruling coalition does not have a majority of three-fifths of the vote in the Sejm that it would request to reject.
That is why we have petitioned “No for abortion!” in which we call on the president to veto both laws. I would like to ask you to sign it today.
NOT for abortion!
I'm signing an appeal to the President!
Coalition politicians do not hide joy. And they don't hide what they're truly getting at.
Robert Biedron of the Left wrote right after the vote: “We promised that we would not quit on women’s rights. We keep our words.”
Barbara Nowacka, minister in Donald Tusk's government, called the passed laws "step in the right direction". She immediately added: “I don’t think any reason is needed. A female should decide. Unconditionally’.
Please halt for a moment, unconditionally. No substance the age of the child, his health, any reason.
This is the real intent of the abortion lobby. Tuesday's laws are just the first step for them.
What does this change mean in practice?
Impunity for drug dealers. The law repeals the rules that now supply for up to 3 years in prison for assisting in abortion. Mr. Łukasz Bernaciński of the Ordo Iuris Institute aptly summed up that the Sejm had "adopted a law which outlawed Abotaku's activities".
The abortion facility at Wiejska Street and the abortion with abortion pills will become, as I late wrote, a legitimate business. akin can happen in any city. These regulations will benefit primarily organisations that organise abortion tourism and distribute tablets.
Women will be left alone under pressure, due to the fact that under the fresh regulations there will besides be no punishment for inciting abortion. A partner will be impunity-free who insists on "get free of the problem". A doctor will be impunityless who, in the face of any problems with the wellness of a kid or a mother, will point the patient to abortion with a light hand, due to the fact that "there will be nothing of it".
This is not protecting women – it is leaving them to those who want to get free of responsibility.
Abortion on request has been introduced into Polish law by the back door for a long time. This is the next step. The fresh government excludes the work of doctors erstwhile abortion results from a woman's wellness risk. And already today, this premise is drawn to the borders – just a certificate from a psychiatrist. Since the Ministry of wellness opened the alleged psychiatric premises, the number of abortions in Poland increased from 425 in 2023 to 896 in 2024.
The combination of guidelines of Minister Lestiny and the passed laws means de facto legalization of abortion on request.
The alleged eugenic abortion will come back to this. The second law restores the anticipation of killing a kid simply due to the fact that he is suspected of having a serious defect or illness. Before the Constitutional Tribunal found this to be incompatible with the Constitution, more than a 1000 children a year were killed in Poland for this reason.
Of these, nearly 40% were children with Down syndrome. The same, whose day the MPs willingly celebrate, wearing colored socks...
Practically now, the president will decide about the lives of these children.
The legislature has no more than 30 days to deal with the bill, and, as I mentioned, it is hard to anticipate it to stop. Then the president will have 21 days to sign or veto it. So there's not much time.
Abortion lobby knows that, and it's pushing the president today. Robert Biedron called the vote "a test for Nawrocki" and accused him of "despotic obsession". Minister Kotula stated that the president should "think deeply" – sounds almost like a threat, right?
On Thursday 22 October, on the anniversary of the Court's judgment, protests under the slogan "Red Card" were held in respective cities.
The force on the president will grow overnight.
The President's Chancellery chief, Zbigniew Bogucki, recalled that the president in the run said that he was “for the protection of life from conception to natural death”, and that position “did not change or change”.
On the another hand, President's spokesman, Rafał Leśkiewicz, left the door as if open, saying that the president is ready to “talk about these very delicate, world-view issues”...
That's not a good signal.
The president must know that thousands of Poles are behind him, who anticipate him to defend life.
Therefore, in the petition “No for abortion!” we ask president Karol Nawrocki to veto both laws:
• due to the fact that they're against the Constitution. Article 38 of the Constitution guarantees the protection of life for all person. The Constitutional Court in its final judgement of 2020 found that killing children due to illness was incompatible with it. The president is the guardian of the Constitution.
• due to the fact that sick and disabled children have the same right to live as healthy children. The state cannot divide people into those who deserve protection and those who can be disposed of.
• due to the fact that impunity of aiding and inciting abortion strikes women. It protects drug dealers and those who force mothers, not mothers themselves.
• due to the fact that the veto will be effective. The coalition does not have a majority of three-fifths to reject them. 1 decision by the president can save the lives of thousands of children.
Let me remind you that in August, together with the Ordo Iuris Institute, we submitted 17,000 signatures to the President's Chancellery under the petition "President, halt abortion".
Today we gotta decision on. The more signatures we file before the bill hits the President's desk, the stronger the voice of life defenders – and the harder it will be to jam him with the scream of the abortion lobby.
But for the lives of unborn children we fight not only with signatures. The day after the vote, Wednesday 21 October, we met at the monthly rosary prayer at 12 Wiejska Street, other the AboTak. In a place where abortionists openly advance the killing of children, and now they hope to gain impunity, we prayed for unborn children, their mothers, MPs and senators, as well as for prudence and good decisions for the President.
With all my heart, I thank everyone who joined us and those who prayed for this intention in their homes. That was an crucial sign. Just a day after dark Tuesday, we showed that we are not giving up and that life defenders will not vanish from the Sejm.
But remember, we have a powerful adversary against us. Abortion lobbys have a majority on their side in the Sejm, ministers, favorable media and generous sponsors. His voice can be heard everywhere.
Our voice must be heard, too. And for that, we request your help.
We want hundreds of thousands of Poles to know about the petition – and this in the coming days before the laws go to the President. Each euro for media promotion is another individual who will hear about the appeal and add their signature to it.
We will hand over the signed signatures personally to the President's Chancellery. We want them to be as many as possible – so many that no 1 can say that Poles agree to kill sick children.
Therefore, I ask you to support the promotion of the petition "Not for abortion!" with a voluntary donation of PLN 50, PLN 100 or even more. all amount will aid us scope out to more people at this crucial time.
On Tuesday, most Members turned distant from the weakest. There were 4 votes to reject the bill. It's hard to accept. But we must not quit – due to the fact that right now, at the last minute, we can inactive save the protection of life in Poland.
The last word is for the President. Let's do everything we can to make him hear our voice.
I ask you to sign the petition, to give it to your household and friends and to pray for the unborn children and for the President, so that he does not deficiency courage in this decision.
Thank you very much for all signature, all prayer and all motion of support.
