On Sunday, June 1, Poland holds the second circular of presidential elections. After 2 terms of president Andrzej Duda, Poles will elect a fresh head of state. It is worth going to elections, but with the awareness of what you can and cannot do at the polling station. Misbehavior may consequence in intervention by the members of the election committee and even the arrival of the police! quite a few voters don't realize that.
What can we and can't do at the polling station? First of all, remember that there is inactive a voter silence – from midnight on Saturday until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, erstwhile the polling stations close. There is simply a strict ban on all electoral agitation – both verbal and visual. You must not agitate verbally, by handing out leaflets or even presenting organization symbols.
After entering the polling place, we collect a ballot card and then go to a shielded place where we can anonymously put the "X" sign by the name of our candidate (it is worth remembering that it is definitely a "X" mark within the grid). Put the ballot in the urn. Under no circumstances should it be removed from the premises – it is illegal!
We don't come to the polling place with guns! Armed people are not allowed in there. It is besides essential to refrain from any form of indecent behaviour – vulgar or provocative. This may consequence in intervention by committee members or police.
What about the photos? It is prohibited to photograph the committee during work. It is up to the president of the committee to decide whether the photograph violates the order of vote or the privacy of others.
As it turns out, the question of photographing filled ballot cards is besides questionable. Many voters do so, but it is worth knowing that it can be interpreted as violating the secrecy of the vote!
