California politician Gavin Newsom commented on the function of Tim Cook's actions

During the DealBook Summit, California politician Gavin Newsom commented on the relation of the technology planet with the Donald Trump administration, besides referring to Tim Cook's actions, reports the service 9to5Mac.Newsom stressed that large companies – including Apple – were forced to compromise to defend their interests, especially in the context of duties and dependence on China.

Referring to the situation where Cook gave Trump a commemorative statue at the White House, Newsom stated that he understood the business pressure, but at the same time called the administration's actions an example of a "economic community". He added that tiny companies did not have specified access and could not number on tariff exceptions simply by 1 telephone call.

Newsom pointed out that his criticism was not just about Cook, but about the full technology industry, which was in a hard political and economical position.
