Last Wednesday, Karol Nawrocki was officially sworn in as president of the Republic of Poland. He had not previously been active with the political community, served as president of the Institute of National Memory. He's a historian by education. That's what his professors say.


On 6 August, Karol Nawrocki swore an oath before the National Assembly and took office as president of the Republic of Poland. Prior to the start of the presidential campaign, he was alternatively under-known to the wide public, serving as the president of the IPN.

He completed his past at the University of Gdańsk, where he obtained his master's degree in 2008. In 2013, on the basis of his work "Social opposition to Communist Power in Elbląskie Voivodeship 1976–1989", he received a doctorate in humanities.

In 2023, Nawrocki besides graduated from the global MBA in Strategy, Programme and task Management at Gdańsk University of Technology.

During his studies, Nawrocki took part in celebrations of the anniversary of the overthrow of the government of Jan Olszewski, and besides peaked in front of the home of Lech Wałęsa. After receiving his doctorate, he appeared at the University of Gdańsk, conducting occasional lectures.

One of the participants of his lectures confessed that Nawrocki then "made the impression of a good and reliable investigator and an interesting person".
