Lech Wojciechowski, erstwhile Deputy Head of the interior safety Agency from the time of the Law and Justice Government, was disciplinaryly expelled from service. The information was provided on Monday by peculiar Services Minister-Coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak, pointing to the breach of the ban on political activity by the ABW officer. Wojciechowski was associated with the environment of Rights and Justice.


As Siemoniak reported in the entry on the X site, the decision was made on January 26. "The procedure of explanation and dismissal has been exhausted in accordance with the regulations," wrote the Minister. Already in November last year, the politician informed about the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against an ABW officer.

Reason for expulsion from service? Violation of Article 81(1) of the ABW and AW Act, which expressly prohibits officers from participating in or for the benefit of political parties.

The Minister pointed out that Lech Wojciechowski, despite his formal position as an ABW official, participated in a political initiative related to Law and Justice at the end of last year. "There is no place in the service for political activists!", said Tomasz Siemoniak.

Who is Lech Wojciechowski?


Lech Wojciechowski held key positions in the ABW for years. As of November 2018, he headed the Department of Information, Analysis and Forecasting, and previously was, among others, Deputy manager of the Cabinet of the Head of the ABW and manager of the Office of Records and Archive of the Agency. He began his service at the ABW in 2006.

Outside the Agency he besides worked at the National safety Office, dealing with analysis and communication, as well as at the Chancellery of the president of Poland. For many years he was associated with the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
