The Paris court sentenced erstwhile French president Nicolas Sarkozy to 5 years in prison in the process of illegally financing an election run with funds coming from Libya. Sarkozy maintains that he is innocent and announces an appeal, but will inactive be summoned to the D.A.'s office within a month, which will set him a date of imprisonment.
