Former staff of the Ministry of improvement and Technology were prosecuted due to actions contrary to the law, which were established by investigators after careful examination of their actions," the National Prosecutor's Office informed.

The Śląski Faculty of the Department of Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice has requested that an indictment be sent against 3 erstwhile officials of the Ministry of improvement and Technology: Stanisław Z., Krzysztof S. and Tomasz K. The investigation was conducted in cooperation with the interior safety Agency.

The defendants were accused of exceeding their rights in order to get property benefits, for which they are facing a punishment of up to 10 years imprisonment," the National Prosecutor's Office informed.

“In the course of the investigation, the prosecutor established that in 2011 — 2021 Stanislaw Z., Krzysztof S. and Tomasz K. as civilian servants — staff of the Ministry of Economy, now Ministry of improvement and Technology — in order to accomplish the property benefit they provided paid training for entrepreneurs applying for the issue of a control body, the competent Minister for economical Affairs, administrative decisions, including approval for peculiar marketing,” the National Prosecutor said.

‘The defendants did not have the approval of the Director-General of the Ministry liable for this activity, thus exercising it against the rules (..) of impartiality and selflessness and allowing suspicions of a conflict between public and private interests. According to the findings of the procedure, the defendants conducted in various configurations a full of more than 150 trainings, the full value of which was around half a million zlotys", according to the PK communication.

PK added that this is the second indictment in this case. "Previously, the prosecutor accused Omar F. and Benedict D. of actions under Article 133(1) The Act on the Production and Trading of Explosives, Arms, Ammunition, and Military or Police intent Products and Technology, consisting in arms, ammunition and technology for military usage without concessions and the acceptance of commissions of a full amount of EUR 453,000 and PLN 31 thousand, was transmitted.’

(...) We stress that the defendants did not carry out their duties in MRiT at the time erstwhile the ministry was headed by Minister Krzysztof Hetman,” says the release.
