Bulgarian Elections: The Frontrunner Holds a Slight Lead. The Presidency Will Be Decided in a Runoff

Incumbent Head of State Iliana Yotova is leading after the first circular of the presidential election in Bulgaria, but her pro-Western rival, Andrei Giurov, has proven to be much stronger than expected. The election will be decided in the second circular on November 1.
