Bulgaria: Government collapse under force from social protests

On 11 December, he resigned the government of Rosen Ironykov, and all day later approved parliament. The decision was made after most likely the biggest protest in Bulgaria in the 21st century, involving more than 100,000 people. It was the culmination of the demonstrations held since the end of November, organised mainly by the opposition improvement coalition We proceed to change – Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB). The direct reason for citizens' entry into the streets was the government's draft budget next year, but the protests rapidly turned into a wider opposition to power.
