Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus – from British colony to sovereign global entity
Aphrodite Island with UN Green Border
Cyprus as associated with the majority of Poles, the island in the Mediterranean has since ancient times been under the regulation of Greeks, Romans, Byzantium, Crusaders and Venetians. During this period, it existed as a classical territory under the regulation without state distinction. After 300 years of Ottoman regulation (since 1571), it became a British colony (1925). As a whole, the island of Cyprus becomes independent in 1960. Soon, efforts began to make Turks a "second category" of citizens on the island – president of the Republic of Cyprus Makarios proposed to amend the Constitution, which would restrict the rights of the public administration to the Turkish population. The “Makariosa amendments” led to the uprising and clash with the Greek government forces of Cyprus alleged “bloody holidays of 1963” as a consequence of which the Turks “went out” from the Government of the Republic of Cyprus creating an enclave (most of the cultural population residing on the smaller area of the island). This resulted in the emergence of United Nations troops that announced the creation of a buffer region separating the island called the UN green line – along the capital, divided to this day.

Greek nationalism measured against the laws of the Turks has intensified for the next decade – in 1974 there was an attack on the island by alleged troops. dictatorships of Greek colonels. As a result, the Turkish state in defence of its own population took the northern part of the island in consequence to the Greek coup military junta. That is the fact and the facts, although the nationalist propaganda of Greeks inactive dominates the public discourse in Poland – suggesting the alleged “anexion” of Northern Cyprus by Turkey. erstwhile we observe to this day, the desire to deprive civil, political and free economical activity of civilian rights The Norths are initiated by the Greek side.
Roads to independency and Separateness
Using effective Turkish diplomacy and the United Nations (UN) forum a fewer years later, in 1983, northern Cyprus declared independence, but to this day only Ankara has declared it a sovereign country. It is worth pointing out here a circumstantial “Paradoxes of Recognition” by Western countries and a large part of the global community (although) representing a number of the world, this number of the planet treats Northern Cyprus as part of the Republic of Cyprus, Although diplomatic representations be in TRCP territory: United States, large Britain, national Republic of Germany and Australia. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is actively present in much more Diplomatic Offices worldwide: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Sweden, United arabian Emirates, large Britain and the USA. In Northern Cyprus there are besides respective prestigious universities recognized by planet institutions specified as AK, YÖK, ASIIN, EDEXCEL, PEARSON, and FIBAA. Universities are listed on the planet Ranking “Times Higher Education”. Similarly, with payments in “Western” currencies – although the Turkish lira remains the primary authoritative currency, about half of transactions in the North are made in British pound, US dollar and Australian dollar, or nipponese yen.
The real and subsequent annexation of the island to the Turks by – this time Brussels was the admission of Cyprus as a full to the European Union in 2004 – without asking whether the Turkish population wanted to undergo inculturation and indoctrination of the EU, as a result, the full “North” from government to farmers and construction workers shows a reserve against centrally planned and imposed “prescriptions” increasing on the fuel ideology of EU bureaucrats – having a separate conviction and showing skepticism towards dependence on Brussels, Berlin and Paris. We Poles feel it all day – giving all day the remnant of sovereignty, freedom or last savings to the EU headquarters.
President Ersin Tatar – the era of cooperation
In March 2025, a summit was held in Geneva on the future of the island in the presence of EU and UN diplomats. Born in Crimea, and since 2020 the president of the Cypriot Turks, fighting for the independency of part of the island on behalf of the Turkish people, did not accept the dictatorship of creating a united state of 2 communities—which is overlooked in the media—still imposed under Greek Cypriots. The Northern Cyprus delegation stressed in the press releases the desire for sovereignty and full global acceptance. It proposed the creation of the Cyprus Cooperation Council. Of course, the Cypriot Greeks rejected this proposal – practically breaking down the Geneva Summit, as can be seen in the transmission material conducted by the EU tv EuroNews. We can safely say that the summit ended not so much with acclaim status quo, but a triumph to the diplomacy of the Turkish people inhabiting the island. Government and president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with respective hard negotiating cards specified as: emphasising honoring diplomas, employment contracts, youth exchange, openness to medical tourism to modern clinics in TRCP, and joint projects of RES photovoltaic panels along “green borderIt’s okay. ” The North delegation has enrolled in past as a peacekeeper and initiator of joint economical ventures. From the presumption that in the future no 1 on either side will think of demolishing energy installations – jointly built by both governments, and worth tens of billions of pounds invested in electricity and hot water for the full island – having as much as 340 days of sunshine per year. surely this direction will proceed with his younger successor, Tufan Erhurman, who since autumn 2025 on the way to full democratic elections (including districts to green border UN) took office as president of the TRCP.
Uniqueity of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
In the course of the analysis and reflection of the improvement of the “states in the north” we can separate the competitive advantages of the TRCP over the EU Republic of Cyprus:
- new transmission infrastructure: gas and water supply from Turkey (in the South there are temporary water breaks in hotels, not mentioned by network travel agencies with German and EU capital),
- a limited area and a limited area of construction (including storey), thus minimising the hazard of a speculative bubble, which already occurs in akin emerging markets specified as Georgia, the UAE, Thailand, Dominican Republic, where the supply of investment property exceeds the number of buyers,
- lack of social problems: specified as littering resorts, unemployment, homelessness or drug addiction (rule: you do not work – you do not eat, pensions and vouchers only concern the sick and permanently unfit for work),
- self-sufficient organic farming based on household farms – not industrial monocultures,
- free trade and a highly developed payment exchange manufacture – a large number of cantors, pawnshops (fine metals, cryptocurrency, diamonds, cash),
- infrastructure investments are carried out from the developer's own resources without indebting citizens with a bank debt and, erstwhile buying the property, it is possible to spread to interest-free instalments,
- freedom from NATO military bases erstwhile the Greek-Cyprian South has as many as 4 key military bases: logistics: Akrotiri, Dhekelia, air: in Paphos and Larnace,
- Citizens' cooperation with a peaceful army, which enjoys large respect for citizens by practicing forgotten social actions specified as canal cleaning, forest planting, infrastructure renovation, etc.
- a friendly right for those wishing to invest: low taxes on labour and profit, the rule of investor assurance – without obsessing about the origin of income and surveillance,
- total world-view neutrality of the state despite the indwelling of a country dominated by the Muslim population (freedom from political and spiritual correctness)
- Constantly emerging, modern clinics and hospitals, which spurs the improvement of medical tourism
Turkish Cyprus is besides favored by geopolitical and geological conditions – he missed the last tiny earthquakes that were experienced by tourists present in the South, as well as the expanding tensions resulting from continuous drone-missile alarms present after the March US aggression against Iran. Northern Cyprus has so for years remained an oasis of peace and distance against planet turmoil based on sick ideologies, debt and wars that have touched and touched “countries recognisedIt’s okay. ”
