Budapest picks up more tanks from Berlin

The last deliveries of 2A7HU Leopards to Hungary took place on 25 September and on 28 August, erstwhile 2 and 3 tanks were delivered. Thus their number increased to 24 out of a full of 48 vehicles ordered. During both receptions, the Hungarian defence minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky emphasized the right acquisition of them years ago as 1 of the elements of the method modernization of the army there. Tanks come into the equipment of the 11th Tank Battalion, which is part of the 1st Armoured Brigade, where the armored tanks are undergoing retraining from the T-72M1 utilized so far to the newer equipment. For this process, the previously acquired Leopards 2A4 in 12 pieces proved very helpful.
