Donald Trump refers to rocket attack on Sumy aboard Air Force 1 while returning from Florida to Washington. In a Russian attack on the city 34 people diedand 117 were injured, including 15 children.
– I think it was terrible. I I was told they made a mistake.. But I think it's a terrible thing. I think the full war is terrible. I think that this war started as an abuse of power," Trump said, stressing that if he were the president of "this country (US) would never let this war to erupt."

When asked to explain the Russian error, the president only replied that the Russians "made a mistake."
– I think it was – you ask them yourself. This is Biden's war. This isn't my war.. This is the war that followed Biden (... "I'm just trying to halt her so we can save quite a few lives," he said.

When asked to meet his envoy Steve Witkoff with Vladimir PutinTrump said his advisor had “good meetings with Russia and Ukraine”.

Prior to Trump, the Russian attack condemned an envoy for Ukraine General Keith Kellogg, who wrote on platform X that the attack "crosss all limits of decency". He besides seemed to propose that he might have been intentional.
‘As erstwhile military commander I'm good at picking targets. and this (attack in Sumach) is wrong," he wrote.
The Secretary of State reacted more reticently Marco Rubiowho offered his condolences on the "Frightening" Russia's attacks, adding that this is "a tragic reminder of why president Trump and his administration devote so much time and effort to effort to end this war and accomplish lasting peace".

The White home did not comment until Sunday evening on local time.
"Today's rocket attack on Sumy is a clear and violent reminderWhy president Donald Trump's efforts to end this terrible war take place at a crucial moment. Our hearts are with the victims, their loved ones and everyone she touched," wrote National safety Council spokesperson Brian Hughes in a statement.
The Sunday attack on Suma occurred 2 days after the gathering of American peculiar Envoy for the mediate East Steve Witkoff with Vladimir Putin in Petersburg. So far the Trump administration did not post a message from this conversation.
