Senator Adam Szejnfeld, associate of the Capital of the Promotional Emblem Foundation “Now Poland”, on behalf of the Marshal of the legislature of Poland, Ms Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, presented the Honorary Title “Excellent Pole” to Mr Bronisław Komorowski, erstwhile president of Poland. The second winner was neurosurgeon Mr. prof. dr hab. sciences med. Mirosław Ząbek. The ceremony took place during the large Gala of the “Now Poland” Competition organized at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
The program of rewarding outstanding Poles is 12 years old, and in the past these titles were awarded to Krzysztof Penderecki, Andrzej Wajda, Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, Wojciech Kilar, Adam Małysz, Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, Rafał Olbiński, Prof. Michał Heller, Jerzy Skolimowski, Kamil Stoch, Andrzej Pągowski, Krzysztof Zanussi, Marcin Gortat, Prof. Andrzej Krakowski, Iga Świątek.
Ms Marszałek Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, in her message read by Senator Adam Szejnfeld, addressed the participants and guests of the “Now Poland” Foundation Gala, stressed the large importance for the promotion of the Polish economy of the title “Now Poland” stressing that – "The activity of the foundation besides goes beyond the sphere of the economy. The award “Excellent Pole” is simply a discrimination and promotion of people who, through their activity and commitment, contribute to promoting a affirmative image of Poland and Poles in the world. This is, in my opinion, a peculiarly valuable initiative" and added: "Thank you very much for your contribution to the improvement of the Polish economy and congratulations on your success in promoting Polish business. I want the winners that the awards received are a motivation for further dynamic development."
The presentation of the titles “The Outstanding Pole” preceded the laudations in honor of the winners. Senator Adam Szejnfeld presented the achievements and achievements of president Bronisław Komorowski while Minister Krzysztof Paszyk presented the achievements of Prof. Mirosław Ząbek.
The gala was opened by prof. Dr hab. Bronisław Komorowski – Winner of the title "Honor Outstanding Pole" 2024
Historian, anti-communist opposition activist. In free Poland MP of Poland, Minister of National Defence, Marshal of the Sejm of Poland. In 2010–2015 the president of the Republic of Poland.
He was born on 4 June 1952 in Oborniki Śląski close Wrocław. He was raised in an intelligence household with strong terrestrial traditions and independence. In his household home he learned patriotism, attachment to civic values, respect for tradition and love of freedom.
Already as a pupil of XXIV LO im. Cyprian Norwid in Warsaw engaged in opposition activities – he took part in demonstrations, including during March 1968 events. He was first arrested in December 1971, aged 19. In 1976, he participated in relief actions for the injured workers Radom and Ursus. He worked actively with the Workers' Defence Committee and the Human Rights and Citizens' Defence Movement. He organized patriotic manifestations, was the publisher of the underground press.
In 1977 he defended his master's thesis at the Historical Faculty of the University of Warsaw. After his studies, he worked for the PAX Press Team, and from 1980 to 1981 – in the Centre for Social investigation of the NSZZ “Solidarity” of the Mazovia Region. Since September 1982, he has been editor of an independent, underground writing entitled "ABC. Adriatic, Baltic, Black Sea", devoted to the cooperation of the countries of the region. During many years of opposition activity, he was repressed and arrested repeatedly and interned in the state of war. Until 1989, he taught past in a lower clergy seminary in Niepokalanów.
In free Poland Bronisław Komorowski engaged in public activity. From 1989 to 1990, he headed the cabinet of Minister Alexander Hall in the Office of the Council of Ministers. From 1991 to 2010, he was a associate of the Polish Parliament. He worked on the Commission for Poles abroad, the Committee on National Defence and the Committee on abroad Affairs.
From 1990 to 1993 – in the governments of Tadeusz Mazowiecki, Jan Krzysztof Bielecki and Hanna Suchocka – he was Deputy Minister of National Defence for Educational and Social Affairs. In 2000–2001, in the government of Jerzy Buzek, he headed the Ministry of National Defence. In October 2005, he was elected Deputy talker of the 5th Sejm and in November 2007 as talker of the 6th Sejm.
After the tragic death of president Lech Kaczyński in the Smolensk disaster on 10 April 2010, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski, as talker of the Sejm, performed the duties of president of the Republic of Poland. He held this function until 8 July 2010, erstwhile he resigned as talker of the Sejm. He won the presidential election on 4 July 2010. The Office took office on 6 August 2010, taking an oath before the National Assembly.

Doctor neurosurgeon, academic teacher, habilitated doctor of medical science, prof. of the Medical Center for Postgraduate Education.
In 1983, he graduated from the Medical College in Warsaw. Since 1984, he has been a specialist in neurosurgery and neurotraumatology. In 1995, at the Medical Academy in Warsaw, he obtained a habilitation degree based on the work entitled “Evaluation and clinical importance of vascular contraction dynamics in patients with subarachnoid bleeding from ruptured aneurysm”.
He has held a number of global internships and trainings, e.g. European Neurosurgery Training (1987–1991), as well as individual neurosurgery training internships in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, France, USA, Belgium and Japan. He besides completed European training in vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, and cervical and lumbar arthrolastics, minimally invasive spine surgery, and pain treatment by stimulation of the tense system.
