The governing British Labour organization temporarily expelled MP Dan Norris from its ranks after he was detained on suspicion of rape and a number of sexual crimes against children said the organization spokesperson quoted by British paper Sun.
According to the newspaper, the politician was detained on Friday.
"Mr Dan Norris was immediately suspended by the Labour organization after receiving information about his detention," quotes the Labour organization spokesperson newspaper.
According to the newspaper, Norris is 65 years old and previously worked for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty towards Children. According to police, the crimes he is accused of were allegedly committed in 2000 and 2020.
It should be noted that the MP has been suspended in the rights of a organization associate while the investigation is ongoing.
