In Podkarpacie, police detained a 68-year-old doctor, a specialist in interior diseases and cardiology, against whom the prosecution has filed over 500 corruption charges. On 16 September 2025, the prosecutor announced to the fishy 510 allegations under Article 228(1) of the Penal Code concerning the acceptance of property benefits from patients in connection with their public office. (...) According to the findings of the investigation, the benefits were both money – in amounts ranging from 20 to 200 PLN – as well as branded alcohols. The full value of the benefits received exceeded PLN 55 thousand. The allegations have been supplemented by a qualification under Article 65(1) of the Criminal Code, indicating that crimes have been committed as a permanent origin of income," we read in the Communication from the territory Prosecutor's Office in Rzeszów.
