Restricting the kingdom of Christ to the invisible planet alone would be contrary to the Scriptures. Christ’s Kingdom must be fulfilled on earth. He truly is King of kings. Bishop Athanasius Schneider spoke about this to the 21st Conservative Congress.
The Conservative legislature has been held cyclically for more than 2 decades by the Fr Piotr Skarga Christian Culture Association. Last year Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Kazakh Astana received the Patron's Name Award of this organization. This year, he gave a speech to the convention participants about the Kingship of Christ.
“Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. That is the fact of our faith," said the bishop.
“The kingdom of Christ refers not only to eternal life, but must be realized already on earth. If this were not the case, he would not truly be King of kings, neither would the nations and men on earth be His inheritance, and Christ would only be half King, and the fact of His incarnation would not encompass all the realities of mankind," he stressed.
"The limitation of Christ's kingdom only to the invisible and eternal planet would be contrary to many and explicit statements in the Scriptures, to the unchanging knowing of the Church for about 2 1000 years. This would be a mutilation of the full fact of Incarnation. For God himself solemnly declared that all authority was given to him in heaven and on earth. The Kingdom of Jesus Christ is the only kingdom that truly liberates people. He frees man from various forms of slavery, and the worst of them is the slavery of sin," he explained.
The talker besides pointed to the strength of the ungodly revolution, which seeks to free Christ and the Church of public life.
"The first political effort to exclude Christ the King took place in past during the French Masonic Revolution. The full region of France at that time, the people of Wandea, protested and recognized Christ's Royal Heart as their King by undertaking legitimate self-defense. This cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who became the first martyrs of Christ the King in modern times," he said.
"Another notable example was the thousands of Catholics who died this time at the hands of the Masonic dictatorship in Mexico in the 20th century due to their faithfulness to Christ the King. Their characteristic cry was, “Let Christ the King live”, “viva Cristo Rey!”. It is besides a confession of faith, a kind of slogan and the last prayer on their lips at the minute of martyrdom," the bishop added.
“Let all Catholics of our time, beginning with the pope, and ending with the humblest and weakest members of the Church, work zealously through words, deeds, prayers and suffering for the establishment of the social and universal kingdom of Christ. Long live Christ the King!" he called to the end.
Below we present the full message of JE Fr Athanasius Schneider.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
Dear participants of the Conservative legislature organized by the Association of Fr Peter Complaints, Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. That is the fact of our faith. Jesus Christ, the incarnate God and Savior of the world, is the actual King. He himself confessed this fact in the face of his saving death on the cross. He proclaimed it before Pilate, or before the typical of the then Gentile and unbeliever world. He said, “Yes, I am king.” And before ascending to heaven, Christ solemnly said: “All authority is given me in heaven and on earth.” Christ’s Kingdom refers not only to eternal life, but must be realized on earth. If that were not the case, he would not truly be King of Kings, neither would the nations and men on earth be His inheritance, and Christ would only be half king, and the fact of His incarnation would not encompass all the realities of mankind.
Restricting Christ's kingdom only to the invisible and eternal planet would be contrary to many and explicit statements in the Scriptures, to the unchanging knowing of the Church for about 2 1000 years. This would be a mutilation of the full fact of Incarnation. For God himself solemnly declared that all authority was given to him in heaven and on earth. The Kingdom of Jesus Christ is the only kingdom that truly liberates people. It frees man from various forms of slavery, and the worst of them is the slavery of sin.
This slavery is most cruel and dangerous, due to the fact that it binds man's head to error, and the will of man to evil and yet to hatred. all man and all human society were created to accept Christ as their king. Instead, sinful men and faithless human and political communities preach, as did the judaic advanced priests and Pharisees before Pilate: “There is no another king for us than Caesar.” all man and all human and political community should say the opposite: “We have no another king than Christ.” During the cruel persecutions of Christians in Mexico by free-mulcan authorities in the 1920 ’ s and by communists in Spain in 1936, thousands of Catholics, including many children and young people, agreed to martyrdom, exclaiming, “Let Christ the King live!” (“Viva Cristo Rey!”).
In mention to the encyclical of Pope Pius XI Quas PrimasThis century, Pope Pius XII recalled the same, invariably up-to-date Catholic doctrine regarding Christ’s social and universal reign, stating: “Can there be anything nobler than the improvement of the flag? The King before those who followed and proceed to follow the false banner, and reconstruct under the victorious banner of the cross those who abandoned him? What heart will not be set on fire, it will not be taken to aid so many brothers and sisters who have strayed through error, passion, temptation and prejudice, have strayed from the way of religion in the actual God, and have lost contact with the joyful and refreshing message of Jesus Christ, who, among the soldiers of Christ, priests or laymen, clergy and laymen, does not feel moved and encouraged to be more alert, to a more determined opposition to the ever-growing crowd of enemies of Christ?’
In his view, the preachers of these tendencies deny or in practice disregard the refreshing fact and values of religion in God and Christ. He sees that they break the tablets of God's commandments to replace them with another tablets and another banners lacking the ethical content of God's revelation, banners in which there is no place for the spirit of the Sermon on the Mount and the Cross of Christ. These are the words of Pope Pius XII.
The celebrated cardinal and apostle of Christ’s kingdom in 19th - century France, Cardinal Pie, said: “The deposing of God on earth is simply a crime we can never accept. We never halt protesting her. We remember the last words our Lord addressed to his apostles before ascending to heaven: “All authority is given me in heaven and on earth.” announcement that our Lord God does not say, “Go so and teach all men, all persons, all families.” But he said, Go and teach all nations. It does not simply say, “baptize children, teach catechism, bless marriage, give sacraments, celebrate spiritual funerals.” Of course, the mission entrusted to the apostles includes all these tasks, but it besides includes more due to the fact that it has a public and social dimension. That is why Jesus Christ said, "Go and teach all nations." He is the King of all men and nations.
John Henry Newman warned of the danger in the Church erstwhile clergy identify God's Kingdom with purely earthly and inevitable progress, fearing criticism and persecution from the world. Cardinal Newman said: “As you cast the yoke of Christ, the planet by instinct recognizes you and thinks well of you. O my brethren, there is eternal hostility between the planet and the Church. The Church proclaims by the Apostle's mouth that whoever is simply a friend of the planet becomes an enemy of God" (St. James). Does not the planet mock all that is glorious and dignified in our holy Catholic religion? Who are we to be treated better than our Lord and His Mother, His servants and His works? Who are we if we are treated better, if not friends of those who treat us well and at the same time treat our Lord Jesus Christ badly? O my dear brothers, be children of grace, not of nature. Do not be deceived by this world, its sophistics and suppositions. He pretends to be the work of God, but in reality he comes from Satan. “I know my sheep,” says Jesus Christ, “and my sheep know me and follow me.”
Dear brothers and sisters, participants of this convention, the 20th century marked by the systematic exclusion and alienation of Christ as a king from human society by the dictatorship of atheism. The first political effort to exclude Christ the King took place in past already during the French Masonic Revolution. The full region of France at that time, the people of Wandea, protested and recognized Christ's Royal Heart as their King, undertaking legitimate self-defense. This cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who became the first martyrs of Christ the King in modern times. Another notable example was the thousands of Catholics who died, this time at the hands of the Masonic dictatorship in Mexico in the 20th century due to their faithfulness to Christ the King. Their characteristic cry was "let Christ the King live," "viva Cristo Rey!" It was besides a confession of faith, a kind of slogan, and the last prayer on their lips at the minute of martyrdom. Let all Catholics of our time, beginning with the pope, and ending with the humblest and weakest members of the Church, work zealously through words, deeds, prayers and suffering for the establishment of the social and universal kingdom of Christ. Long live Christ the King!
