Germany carried a culture between the Slavs mostly only at the price of relinquishing their highest good, their nationality; where the Slavs did not want to pay it, there they put straight obstacles to their self-development of civilization, where they did not let them to grow their culture further, though they boasted that they were serving it faithfully. Slavic nations, which did not lose their nationality, yet became cultural nations, became them despite and even against the will of the Germans. That's why they like to call them savage and barbarian. ...The German culture is neither the first, nor the last, nor the only to lead to perfection.
Leopold Lityński responded to the propaganda of the German writing (July 1905) “New Press” explaining the behaviour of Germans towards Poles, Hungarians and Czech Republic:
The massive increase in power and influence of the German state in fresh years has been a considerable incentive to increase and increase the energy of the German component in Austria. Karol Szajnocha wrote in 1902 “about the threat of all east Europe from teutonicism”:
Years ago, by the fact that Poles were implanted into Prussian soil, utilized the Teutonic Knights in the first 50 years of the generous Polish work, in the second half of a century the order established already in Prussia against its own pauper, Poland and tore it out for stormy days of Elbows Pomorze, Dobrzyń, Kujawa, the most beautiful part of the Polish crown of that time, the way to the sea - “about the threat of all east Europe from Teutonicism” in the 14th century. The oppressive influence of the Teutonic neighbourhood made it more painful for Poles to feel that he was the 1 who was burdened with the love of his neighbors over all others, and he was disgusted by the unused neighbour.
He recalled Charles Szajnoch, a French historian who “acquainted in a striking way with the customs of all the peoples of the time” so characterized our western neighbors in the 14th century:
“Germany is inherently uncouth and blunt-minded, unless it is about profit fishing, due to the fact that they are sick of wit and skill. ..the Germans do not keep their word to anyone and do not keep anything they have always promised, or for which they have made a deal... Germans are so greedy... The Germans are as greedy as any another nation, and have no mercy upon anyone, erstwhile they have power over him; and they put their captives in very tight prisons, and chain them into very fine hoops and barbed, and usage various another tools and prison supplies upon which they perfectly realize each other, to force a greater ransom from their captives... The German people are inferior to Saracens and Gentiles... The curse of Germany! They are people without reverence and heart, and they should not have mercy on each other."
