The Serbian safety and Information Agency (BIA) in cooperation with the Russian FSB was to conduct sonic weapons tests on dogs – he provided the Politico portal, citing papers of the Serbian government and peculiar services. 2 weeks earlier, the anti-government demonstration had been interrupted by terrible noise.
The experiments utilizing sound cannons were to take place 2 weeks after an anti-government demonstration in Belgrade of March 15, 2025, during which the protest was abruptly interrupted by a deafening sound. A strong sound caused panic and caused a crowd to disperse. any demonstrators went to hospitals with symptoms specified as nausea, vomiting, pain and dizziness.
The authorities officially denied the usage of sonic weapons, and president Aleksandar Vučić announced an investigation and the work of the authors, as he said, of "brutal lies".
According to papers that Politico reached shortly after the protest, Serbian and Russian officers tested sonic weapons on dogs at the BIA camp. The aim was to compare the reactions of dogs with the symptoms reported by protesters. The tests utilized 2 models of long-range devices capable of emitting up to 150 decibels.
Experiments have been made without the required permits, and according to any assessments they were a legally prohibited form of animal abuse.
