Seventy years ago, a real icon was born that redefined what a real dive watch was – Blancpain Fifthy Fathoms. It was on the basis of this watch and the guidelines of the U.S. Navy that the celebrated Rolex Submariner was created (which failed to successfully complete the tests nota bene). present Blancpain – a brand that was founded in 1735 in Switzerland – entered into a akin collaboration that Omega entered a fewer years ago, with Swatch, and the consequence of this collaboration is Blancpain x Scuba Fifthy Fathoms Collection.
Blancpain is known primarily for its 50 Fathoms, produced in collaboration with Nageurs de Combat (combatants) of the French Navy commanded by Captain Bob Maloubier and Lieutenant Claude Riffaud, and worn by Jacques Cousteau. Since 1958, Fifthy Fathoms has been on the primary equipment of U.S. Navy combat divers and United States Navy SEALs soldiers. The watch has watertightness to a depth of 91 meters, 300 feet or as any 1 prefers – 50 fathoms.

From the cooperation of Blancpain and Swatch, 5 colour variants of Scuba 50 Fathoms Collection were created, 1 for each ocean – Pacific, Atlantic, South, Arctic and Indian.

Each is characterized by individual colours and a unique artistic reflection of the gastropod on the watch mechanics – SITEM51. This mechanics was created by Swatch, consisting of 51 parts, 1 central screw, has a 90 hr walk reserve and is full anti-magnetic – a Nivahron balance spring was used.

The individual Blancpain x Swatch Scuba 50 Fathoms Collection models were made from Bioceramic (nothing noble), have an envelope diameter of 42.3 mm, its thickness is 14.4 mm, and the distance between the strap brackets is 48 mm. The slide is not plastic this time, as with Omega x Swatch, but it is simply a "bio glass with scratch protection". As an interesting point, the window for the mechanics of the watch was made of sapphire glass. I just want they'd utilized it everywhere.
Each model is subtly different from the others, but they all come on the NATO belt. any have peculiar graphics, any show a date... the remainder of the surprises you find yourself.
Blancpain x Swatch Scuba 50 Fathoms costs PLN 1780 and you can buy them only stationary in Swatch boutiques and their partners.
So which 1 do you take?
