The harshest punishment for violating church discipline is ecclesiastical excommunication, or exclusion from church organization. But that does not mean that the individual being punished is excluded from the Mystical Body of Christ. Examples include St. Joan of Arc, martyr Jan Hus, and Archbishop of Lefebvre. On them was ecclesiastical excommunication, but God's anathema did not fall upon them. They were not excluded from the Mystical Body of Christ. It has been proved that John Hus did not preach any heresy. In fact, he was burned for wanting a actual improvement of the priesthood. Falsely accused was besides Joanna d'Arc and was burned.
