Dezamet S.A., Mesko S.A., Chemical Plant “Nitro-Chem” S.A. and peculiar Production Plant “Gamrat” sp. z o.o. will receive over PLN 2.4 billion of co-financing from the State Capital Investment Fund. The money will be utilized to increase the production of materials and combat agents, including 155 mm artillery ammunition. All companies belong to the Polish Armed Forces Group.
Co-financing of PGZ companies is possible through a change of law that Parliament passed in late November 2024. The Act on the financing of activities aimed at expanding the capacity of ammunition production. Under its power, the Ministry of Defence gained the chance to support investment processes in state-owned companies key for defence. This can be done, among others, with the participation of the State Investment Fund, which is supervised by the Minister of State Assets, to which the Ministry of National Defence transfers funds for the improvement of artillery ammunition.
After MON Fund's power, state-owned companies curious in co-financing submit business plans to FIK. erstwhile accepted, companies will receive non-refundable support.
Yesterday, the Ministry of State Acts signed 4 investment agreements with the Polish Armed Forces Group. On their basis, to the ‘ammunition’ holding companies: Dezamet S.A., Mansko S.A., Chemical plants ‘Nitro-Chem’ S.A. and ‘Gamrat’ peculiar Production Plant Sp. z o.o. will receive over PLN 2.4 billion of funding.
Of this sum, the most, due to the fact that PLN 1,358 billion will receive Desamet. The second on the list is Mesko, for which the support is PLN 887 million, the 3rd is Nitro-Chem – PLN 113 million, and the 4th Gamrat – PLN 66 million.
Jakub Jaworowski, Minister of State Assets, stressed that the above measures would let companies to importantly increase their capabilities regarding the production of combat measures and 155 mm artillery ammunition. “In assessing the applications, we took into account in peculiar the fact that according to the business plans presented, the full production process will take place in Poland”, said the minister. He explained that this would let for independency from abroad suppliers. “This is besides part of the plan for repolonization, and in the long term, after gathering the needs of the Polish Army, it creates opportunities to export specified ammunition,” added Jakub Jaworski.
The representatives of the PGZ-et emphasize that in the coming days they will be signed with 4 companies of the agreement so that they can receive funds from the FIK as shortly as possible. As Arkadiusz Bąk, Vice president of the Polish Armed Forces Group, the concept of organizing 3 ammunition factories assumes both the expansion of existing plants as well as the construction of fresh technological lines for 155 mm ammunition. “The preparatory work is already underway,” adds Arkadiusz Bąk.
