The CDU/CSU has long been working behind the scenes on a plan to tackle migration – a migration alliance with German neighbours – writes the “Bild” diary portal and reveals Friedrich Merz's “secret plan”, most likely the future German Chancellor, on migration.
The Chadeck CDU/CSU and the Social Democratic SPD, which are presently conducting coalition negotiations, argue about what it means that migrants should be turned around at the German borders "in agreement" with neighbouring countries. The SPD wants the neighbours to explicitly agree to this, while the CDU/CSU would besides like Germany to act independently.
The full coalition depends on this agreement
“Bild” noted.
According to “Bilda”, Friedrich Merz now wants to affect the most crucial countries neighbouring Germany in the issue of returning refugees. According to the portal's information, "secret talks with Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland and France are already ongoing". The aim of the alliance is to "restrict migration, return to borders on a permanent basis".
Home Minister of SPD Nancy Faeser supports Merz's plan and has already negotiated it with her Austrian counterpart Gerhard Karner while flying to Jordan, writes "Bild" citing information from government circles.
According to “Bilda”, Friedrich Merz negotiates with the Heads of Government of Poland (Donald Tusk), Austria (Christian Stocker), Czech (Petr Fiala), Karin Keller-Sutter (Switzerland) and French president Emmanuel Macron on common rules on the return of migrants. If Merz had succeeded in reaching an agreement with the most crucial neighbours, the SPD would yet have joined him.
The German paper portal besides points out that the Polish government decided this week to suspend the right to apply for asylum.
Comment by Mr PiS
Simon Szymon Szynkowski a.k.a. Sęk, a PiS MP who commented on the Welt tv material referred to Merz's plans
In the material, it is pointed out that Friedrich Merz, advocates sending migrants outside the German border besides without the consent of neighbouring countries! In this case – protection against abuse of the Schengen Borders Code and Dublin III Regulation, and the content of the arrangements with the German side – I just sent an interpelled to the Ministry of Interior!
“ Mr PiS said.
There must be absolutely no "secret arrangements" that hit the Polish business, we will item all aspect of this case and express strong opposition to specified actions!
“The erstwhile Minister of abroad Affairs wrote.
President's reaction
President Andrzej Duda spoke on the activities of the Tusk Government on illegal migration. The head of state addressed Berlin's ‘secret plan’.
Prime Minister Tusk has been very fond of bragging about protecting the border lately. But only the east 1 – that is, the 1 that we strengthened before despite his protests and attacks of PO politicians. Now my written questions about the western border and the threat of bringing illegal migrants from Germany to Poland were very upset by the Prime Minister. Is it due to the “secret plan” of Berlin that Germany itself writes about?
“ president Andrzej Duda asked in a social media entry.
