
On Tuesday 11 March, the European Parliament addressed the proposal to deprive Mr Bielan of his immunity. It was filed by the Polish D.A. in connection with the suit for a private accusation directed by Przemysław Wipler. The Confederate MP referred to the message made by the PiS MEP, who was on RMF FM in March 2023.
At the time, Adam Bielan stated that FiveRand, whose co-owner is the Confederate politician, was active in the NCBiR issue. It is about embezzlement of subsidies amounting to EUR 178 million (about PLN 750 million). The European Parliament referred to the company as butchers from Nowogrodzka. – In this case, they are connected to all the actors who appear in this scandal. For respective weeks now, through their friends journalists have been disseminating to a large degree false information, which I think is expected to get the Ministry of Funds to push funds for 2 suspicious companies – he explained straight to Przemysław Wipler and the another owner – erstwhile writer Michał Krzymowski.
During the proceeding by the committee on legal affairs in the European Parliament, Adam Bielan argued that Przemysław Wipler is trying to harass politically. In the end, MEPs decided to waive immunity to the Law and Justice politician.
In the close future, the European Parliament will besides decide on the destiny of 5 another Polish MEPs. The proposals concern the waiver of immunitys by Daniel Obietk, Michał Dworczyk, Maciej Wąsik, Mariusz Kamiński and Grzegorz Braun.
